It was a privilege to attend the unveiling of St. George Fire Department's Wildland Firefighting Program as they officially welcomed two Skeeter brush trucks/high water rescue vehicles into service. π
"With growing wildland-urban interface risks throughout our district, this team strengthens our ability to protect lives, homes, and property while supporting neighboring communities when called upon," said St. George Fire.
These units are designed with real-world calls in mind, featuring a rescue compartment on the officerβs side and a step-side configuration on the driverβs side. When floodwaters rise, the skid units can be removed and benches deployed, allowing crews to rapidly convert the truck into a lifted high-water evacuation vehicle. From everyday responses to severe weather events, these rigs give St. George Fire Department the flexibility and capability to protect and serve their community when it matters most. πͺ

This impressive aerial proves that "stock" never means sacrificing capability, quality, or firefighter-focused design. For departments facing aging fleets, growing demands, or urgent apparatus needs, a stock truck offers a strategic advantage. Departments can place a proven, mission-ready truck in service much faster than traditional custom build timelines, without compromising the safety, functionality, and performance firefighters depend on every day. π―
Thank you Rosenberg Fire Department for once again trusting Pierce Mfg and Siddons-Martin!
