Oh lort, when the rats/mice are smarter than me 😭

We’re still working out the mouse/rat problem over here guys! We’re getting around to trying everyone’s suggestions starting with the lowest cost option, of course, with the buckets! 🪣 The rats/mice went away when we brought the birds out to the aviary, and I figured it was the dogs movement keeping them at bay! Well, it seemed to be working great at first, got lots of eggs and everything was great! Then it wasn’t. The rats are now going to the highest tiers of the cages, bringing the eggs into the p**p trays and THEN having their feast as to avoid detection by the dogs. They use to crack them open on the feed troughs, but they are SMART! They know the dogs will get them if they stay in the feed troughs or egg roll out, so they would rather crawl into the p**p 💩 Mind you, all the p**p trays below the mid section have ZERO eggs in them. These things are smart, and adapt freakin QUICK!!

We’re tryin guys, we’re just being out smarted by an animal with the brain capacity of a toddler!!😅

Also, don’t mind the full p**p trays, WE KNOW brother lol

The birds are loving being outside I think!! It’s definitely a lot more airflow for them as apposed to fans in the quail shed! Got me wanting to just make a large aviary “shed” to keep them in forever! Oh the possibilities!
