B + D Quail

Hey, everyone I just wanted to say thank you so so so freaking much for everything! This community has been absolutely amazing to say the least. The amount of support yall have shown is beyond belief and brings tears to my eyes ❤️ We have since moved out of our home and into Dani’s mother’s house. We’re so grateful to have this as an option and there’s room for us to start our quail and foam operation up again. We’re not usually ones to put our hardship online for everyone to see as it’s somehow embarassing for me but this was such a big loss I felt I had no choice. Everyone has made Dani and I feel so loved during this it’s amazing! And if didn’t like your post or share, etc it’s just because I missed it ❤️ I’ve spent very minimal time on here as I’m dealing with nonstop calls and appointments everyday, going to the old house, it’s so so exhausting and when I get back i just need to decompress 😣 I won’t just keep rambling but I could say thank you thank you thank you all day and it wouldn’t be enough! You guys have shown what this community can do, how it can come together to support one another and it’s like something out of a movie! Thank you so much 😭❤️

Timelines for foam and eggs: We don’t have any predicted timelines for when we’ll open foam orders again since we need to replace all of our equipment. I will keep everyone posted on here once we get our new equipment ordered, so please plan accordingly. We’ll open egg orders again more than likely after winter. So many of yall have offered to send us eggs as well, and we’re so grateful for that. Luckily we had a couple projects set aside so those lines may be saved. When I threw them in the incubator it reminded me of the Finding Nemo scene where Marlon found the last egg which was Nemo 😅 lol Anyways I had to find humor in this SOMEWHERE.

Here’s a picture of Nismo and her chickens in her new backyard for tax. And btw yes Nismo is taking the move very well, she’s protecting her original chickens as well as the flock that’s already here. She definitely favors her original chickens though which are the ones she’s laying with here 😅 🩵

Hey, everyone! We unfortunately had a house fire that started from a fan shorting out.
Dani and I made it out of the house with her cat and Nismo, but the fire took our entire garage, which was our home base for all of our quail. None of our coturnix quail made it out, and the cages didn't make it either. It is very devastating losing all the work we put into our birds and how far we've come with them. We have a place to stay in the meantime, but we will not be fulfilling any egg or foam orders at this time. We will be continuing our journey with our quail, just with a setback. Went out to see this in our cages yesterday 😣

Love these cages but they are not predator proof unfortunately! We had a crazy storm roll through and it pushed the snake into our garage and he was pleasantly surprised with a buffet. He was removed and relocated!

I love the eyes on this little button quail! Most of our buttons have those little black eyes but this one is special! For you button folks out there, this is a blue face button, right?

FINALLY!! 🎉🎉 We got our button quail to lay some eggs, and it only took approximately 1,000 mealworms as payment 🤣 We have a system now: we collect eggs, it rains mealworms. It seems to be a fair trade lol

These buttons are just sooo pretty! 😍 I couldn’t pick just one picture so you get em all 🤣 For you button folks out there, where did you learn genetics at? There’s conturnix genetics groups but I havnt found a button one!

I’ve seen people say the males will have less pattern on the chest and females may have a bib. So is this a female? The silvers are harder since they don’t have any red feathers, too, ugh 😩😅 not so cut n dry or I’m thinking too hard into it haha

Another Branded Foam Shipper Order we did! We’re having so much fun making yalls foam ✨ special ✨ This is the first one we did the mats on and it came out FANTASTIC!!

I LOVE that added personalization! This was an awesome surprise when I opened up this package with our initials on the foam!
