🎉 Member Spotlight: Chelsea!
Chelsea first heard about Spokane For Good from fellow member Alisha Nordahl, and she immediately loved the idea of making a bigger impact together. 💛
Her favorite parts? Knowing she can point to something in the community that she is a part of and learning of all the resources our community offers
💚 Favorite color: the limest of green
🐾 Closest causes to her heart: animal nonprofits (dogs > cats, sorry cat lovers 😉)
💃 Fun fact: Chelsea belly dances — she travels the world to dance and even started her own studio this year (Project Hip Slingers)
If she had a superpower, it would be Superhuman Clarity Vision 👀 — instantly finding answers and explaining them so everyone “gets it.”
Her go-to advice? “There is no growth in the comfort zone—get comfortable with being uncomfortable.” 💪
And if we had to describe Chelsea in three words:
😂 Funny
💭 Thoughtful
📚 Diligent
We’re so lucky that Chelsea joined our circle this year and is bringing heart, humor, and vision to Spokane For Good! 🌟

Not For Profit Feature: Beyond Pink
This October, during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we're proud to highlight Beyond Pink, a beacon of hope in our community whose mission is to educate, fund, and expand access to advanced breast screening technologies.
Did you know? 📊
∙ A startling 1 in 8 women will receive a breast cancer diagnosis in her lifetime
∙ In 2025, around 316,950 women in the U.S. are expected to be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer, and approximately 42,170 will die from the disease.
∙ However, early detection has made a difference—when diagnosed at a localized stage, the 5-year survival rate is an impressive 99%
Source: National Breast Cancer Foundation Inc
Why Beyond Pink matters 💕
They believe access, education, and integrity are essential in breast health.
By making advanced screening available to more people, they help save lives—one mammogram at a time.
Join us in lifting up Beyond Pink’s work this month to improve outcomes across our community.

🎉 Member Spotlight: Meet Laura!
After discovering Spokane For Good on LinkedIn 💻, she joined us on International Women’s Day in 2023—and hasn’t looked back since. Her heart for impact and community is undeniable and resonates with the mission of Spokane For Good.
Laura has spent her career in economic development, including as Washington State’s Economic Development Representative for the Economic Development Administration. A big focus of her work has been supporting Tribal partnerships. This fuels her deep passion for community-centered impact.
If Laura could instantly master any skill, it would be playing the cello 🎻: she started learning a few years ago and wants to unlock the cello’s potential! Her superpower would be teleporting ✈️🌍—obviously to travel the globe!
She brings creativity and purpose to everything she does. She’s a passionate cake decorator 🎂 (yes, professionally!), an advocate for Habitat for Humanity, and currently soaking up the joy of toddlerhood 👶.
How would we describe Laura:
🌸 Intentional
🎨 Passionate
✨ Defender
Her favorite quote? “To thine own self be true…” – Shakespeare
We’re so lucky to have her in our circle 💛

💫 Member Spotlight: Erika!
Get ready, Spokane — we’ve got a gem in our giving circle, and her name is Erika. She joined Spokane For Good with the perfect combo of energy and wit.
Here are some fun facts about Erika:
🧡 Not For Profit closest to her heart: Kellen Cares, a local nonprofit supporting mental health, which has touched Erika’s life deeply — especially as a mom of two boys entering teenhood.
💬 Her dream superpower? Saying the wildly inappropriate thing at exactly the right time. We didn’t know we needed that hero, but now we can’t live without her.
🌀 Fun fact? She once lived in Nepal. Legendary move.
🧠 Fave quote?
"Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people."
— Eleanor Roosevelt
💥 In 3 words to describe Erika: Kind. Honest. Loyal.
Erika shows up fully, with humor, wisdom, and the kind of energy that makes our circle shine a little brighter. We’re so lucky to have her!
