There’s something really special about hearing from MRW fans who just tried a new participating restaurant for the first time. Thank you for taking a moment to share those positive vibes — it means the world.
When we started Maine Restaurant Week 18 years ago, it was for the restaurant owners and the employees. For the chefs, servers, dishwashers, bartenders, and hosts, the people behind the plate. We wanted to give them a boost during winter.
Over the years, it’s grown into something bigger. It’s become date nights and reunions. Visits to longtime and new favorite spots. New connections, new flavors, new stories. At its heart, it’s still about the people who make hospitality happen.
Thank you for dining out during MRW. For tipping generously. Thank you for sharing your experiences. And thank you for supporting the people behind the plate.

Maine Restaurant Week is a celebration of place and people. From Portland to Camden, Kittery to Auburn, and so many towns in between, participating chefs, bakers, bartenders, and hospitality teams lean into it wholeheartedly. They roll out the red carpet, welcoming new guests, and using the moment to flex their creative culinary skills. The result? Fresh energy during winter, new connections, and a statewide reminder to Celebrate the People Behind the Plate. 🍽️
