This was on plates bank about 20 years ago. I wanted a picture of my friend CPs boat who just trolled a tuna. Just as I raised my antique camera the water turned light green, a bunch of humpback whales were bubble feeding and I snapped the picture. Havnt seen this since but will never forget. National geographic kinda stuff!
Evening routine while I return calls
After our fishing trips I try to answer emails and return calls from the ol Adirondack chair by the firepit. Traffic jams out here consist of a flock of turkeys crossing the road or a doe and her fawn. This is olive, bird dog but loves chippys. Simple kinda stuff to make me smile.
Our main focus is fishing but always try to include as much into the trip as we can. Basking sharks are always a huge hit. I always tell them it's a great white. Actually they are harmless sharks that eat plankton. They measure them in tons not feet.

The annual monhegan island sailboat race. Dad and uncle Billy would always say you will be back in school in no time. They were right. I had 10 lobster traps that came out and was sitting in Bessey school in My new toughskins. Always dreading that sight. The end of barefoot, brown as a berry adventures. An addiction that will follow me to the grave.

Summer shark day. 5 blues all released. 20 miles offshore, things changed quickly on the way in. Threaded the needle between two thunderstorms. Quite a light show. Luckily no where near us.
I know nothing about these but almost to the day we see him at our fishing grounds. Much better than us at catching lunch.
Last minute cancelation. This Thursday. 5kts or less calm seas. Been a good Whiting catch or shark is also good.

This 800 plus mako found the stripers. It was jumping 10 feet in the air and stunning them then eating them whole. One of the coolest things I've seen in my career.
We have been seeing these stripers offshore. Illegal to fish for outside 3 miles but cool to see.
