Are any volunteers willing to clean up the raw sewage that flooded this crawl space? We didn't think so. Our job is not always pleasant but our crews always are. They are highly trained professionals who take great pride in helping those affected by disasters both large and small.
To the naked eye, the wall seems fine. However, when a SERVPRO technician uses a thermal imaging camera the dark blue areas clearly show water saturation that needs to be addressed before mold begins to grow. It takes the right tools and professional technicians to make a disaster "Like It Never Even Happened."
Climbing 2 spots, we’re proud to be recognized as the #8 overall franchise system in Entrepreneur magazine's 2022 Franchise 500. We're also #1 in the cleaning and restoration category for 19 straight years!
This "extreme clean" is from a water damaged warehouse. SERVPRO needed more than 17,000 ft. of ducting to ensure the dehumidifiers moved the moisture out of the building to help dry the area faster.

Another deep freeze is on the way for this weekend. Temperatures will be in the teens again and that means a high risk for frozen/ruptured pipes. This photo was taken last weekend when an NJ home experienced a ruptured pipe on the first floor. Water poured out down the side of the foundation causing icicles around the home. For tips on how to prevent this from happening to you, visit our blog.
Congratulations to our technician, “Meek,” on completing his certification as a Water Damage Technician from the IICRC. At SERVPRO, we believe in service excellence and that begins with having professionally trained team members. We don’t hire “laborers.” We employ “Technicians” and invest in their training to tackle even the most challenging jobs professionally. This particular certification from the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification is the gold standard in the restoration industry. Our team members are constantly taking courses to stay current on the latest trends, techniques, and tools of the trade.

Take a look at our reviews and you will consistently see comments about our professionalism in action. We take pride in these skills and our ability to make someone’s mess, “Like It Never Even Happened.”
Be prepared for a power outage. The combination of heavy snow and strong winds are sure to cause outages. The major concern is the cold temperatures (wind chill will be 4 degrees.) If you lose your power and heat, you're at high risk of having frozen pipes. Here are some tips:
1) Slightly open the faucets and occasionally flush the toilets to create circulation and introduce warmer water from underground.
2) Know where your water shut off valve is in case you need to shut down the water supply.
3) If you need to leave the house to go somewhere warm, shut off the main water supply and open the lowest faucet to drain the lines .
4) Download (and use) the SERVPRO Emergency Response Plan from the APP Store.
If you do experience a loss, please contact us and we will provide assistance as soon as possible. However, we do anticipate a high volume of calls and will be working as quickly as possible to assist everyone we can.
"Just use a little bleach to clean the mold off."

We now have a better solution for fighting COVID-19 – and it's in the air.

SERVPRO's now using Grignard Pure, the first-ever antiviral EPA-approved product that kills 98% of SARS-CoV-2 virus particles in the air.

Where do you think this could be most useful?

When it "snows" laundry lint...

When it "snows" laundry lint, you know the clean is extreme. This laundry facility wasn't cleaned in 20 years and became a fire hazard.

To avoid starting a blaze, the crew could only use electric equipment. The local crew only cleaned part of this facility, but they estimated the amount of lint would fill an entire semi-truck trailer.

Can I get a copy of our insurance policy?

Day 6 of Hurricane Prep Week is about reviewing your insurance policy. Make sure you have enough coverage to repair or replace your home and personal items. Remember, flooding isn't covered in home and renters insurance so you’ll need a separate policy for it.

When preparing for hurricanes, having supplies to make it through the hurricane isn’t enough. Ensure you have supplies for the recovery period, which could be very long depending on the damage. For more tips on hurricane prep, visit https://bddy.me/3vYmy9h.

Day 2 of Hurricane Preparedness Week is about making an evacuation plan. Visit https://bddy.me/3MIy931 to determine if you live in a hurricane evacuation zone and need to leave your home. Areas prone to flooding, or a mobile home outside of an evacuation zone may also be reasons leave.

To kick off Hurricane Preparedness Week, the first part of preparation is determining your risk. The NOAA can help you with its Historical Hurricane Tracks tool that uses your zip code to display paths of past storms related to your location.

I don’t remember hearing tornado warnings when I was younger. Tornados were a phenomenon found in far-off places like Kansas. However, over the past couple of years, tornado warnings have become common and some devastating tornadoes have hit NJ in the past year. Is this the result of global warming? Like everything these days that seems to be a political question, but the fact remains that it is a new threat that NJ residents and business owners now need to consider.

IF YOU ARE UNDER A TORNADO WARNING, FIND SAFE SHELTER RIGHT AWAY AND REMEMBER THESE TIPS:
1. Go to a safe room, basement, or storm cellar. If there is no basement, get to a small, interior room on the lowest level.
2. Stay away from windows, doors, and outside walls.
3. If you can safely get to a sturdy building, do so immediately.
4. Do not get under an overpass or bridge. You’re safer in a low, flat location.
5. Watch out for flying debris that can cause injury or death.
6. Use your arms to protect your head and neck.
After the storm has passed:
1. If you are trapped, cover your mouth with a cloth or mask to avoid breathing dust. Try to send a text, bang on a pipe or wall, or use a whistle instead of shouting.
2. Stay clear of fallen power lines or broken utility lines.
3. Do not enter damaged buildings until you are told that they are safe.
4. Save your phone calls for emergencies. Phone systems are often down or busy after a disaster. Use text messaging or social media to communicate with family and friends.
5. Be careful during clean-up. Wear thick-soled shoes, long pants, and work gloves.
Of course, the SERVPRO Ready Plan APP will also prove invaluable if a disaster does occur. Download it from the App Store today.

Not only is high-gloss paint easy to clean, but it's especially helpful if you experience smoke or water damage.

Smelly smoke residues are easily wiped away and are resistant to absorbing moisture.
