On Friday, March 4, 2022, the Turbeville Fire-Rescue responded to a Motor Vehicle Accident in the 14000 Block of Philpott Rd. Upon arrival, one vehicle was found on its side in the median, and it’s one occupant was out walking around. 6 members and 3 apparatus operated on-scene for approximately 1 hr.
On February 7, 2022, the Turbeville Fire-Rescue responded to a Motor Vehicle Accident in the 17000 block of Philpott Rd. Upon arrival, one person was found still in the vehicle. This person was extricated from the vehicle but unfortunately was pronounced dead at the scene. 1 truck with 2 members responded and operated on-scene for approximately 2 hours.
On February 6, 2022, the Turbeville Fire-Rescue responded to a report of a vehicle fire in the 17000 Block of Philpott Rd. Upon arrival, a vehicle was found down an embankment resting against a set of trees. There were no injuries, and 2 trucks and 4 people operated on scene for approximately 45 minutes.
On February 4, 2022, the Turbeville Fire-Rescue responded to 1134 Richardson Ln, for an outside fire threatening a non-dwelling structure. Upon arrival, a pile of burning materials was found within 10’ of the building. The fire was immediately knocked down and only a small amount of fire damage to the exterior of the building occurred. Two trucks and 7 personnel responded, and operated on-scene for approximately 45 minutes.

Stew!!! There is currently a stew scheduled to be made this Friday, January 21 to be sold Saturday the 22nd. It will be sold at Turbeville Fire-Rescue located at 1002 Melon Rd, South Boston, VA 24592, as well as Gene’s Orange Market located at 2037 Philpott Rd, South Boston, VA 24592. The price per quart is 7.00 and will be available for pickup starting at 9am. For pre-orders call the FD at 434-753-6726 on Friday the 21 between 1pm-8pm or message us on Facebook.

On Saturday, January 8, at approximately 6:45AM, the Turbeville Fire-Rescue responded to ABB to assist with a fire in the building. Five firefighters responded with 2 trucks and operated on-scene for approximately 1 hour.
On Saturday, January 1, at approximately 6:34pm, the Turbeville Fire-Rescue responded to a Motor Vehicle Accident in the 8200 block of Philpott Rd. Upon arrival one sedan was found upside down after rolling several times. The driver was flown from the Turbeville Landing Zone. Units operated on-scene for approximately one hour with two units and 5 personnel.
On Sunday, December 12th, the Turbeville Fire-Rescue responded to a Motor vehicle accident in the 14000blk of Philpott Rd. Upon arrival, a truck was found in the median just past Hudson Dr with one passenger inside. A system was set up to assist getting the pt. up to the ambulance. Units operated on-scene for about one hour.
On Saturday, December 4th, at approximately 11:49am, the Turbeville Fire-Rescue responded to Aquatic Co. located at 1100 Industrial Park Rd. South Boston Fire Department arrived on-scene and advised of a working industrial fire, requesting aid from all county stations. One engine and 3 personnel responded from Turbeville Fire-Rescue and operated on-scene for approximately one hour.

At approximately 4:16pm, on Monday November 29th, the Turbeville Fire-Rescue responded to 1133 Foster Rd for a grass fire threatening a structure. The fire burned approximately 1/4 acre and a barn. Turbeville Fire-Rescue responded with 3 trucks and 6 personnel, and operated on-scene for approximately 2 hours.
On Tuesday, November 16, Turbeville Fire-Rescue was dispatched to a Motor Vehicle Collision near the fire department. Moments later an update was provided that it was close to Piney Grove Rd, that one vehicle was on fire, and that a VDOT vehicle was involved. It was also reported that VDOT workers were using extinguishers in an attempt to put out the fire. Upon arrival, the fire was extinguished and occupants were out of the vehicles. With the assistance of Halifax County Rescue Squad and Patient Transport, two were locally transported with minor injuries.
On Monday, November 15, the Turbeville Fire-Rescue assisted South Boston Fire Dept at Dinis Brothers Pizza Restaurant located at 901 Wilborn Ave for a commercial structure fire. Our units arrived on-scene after a fast, aggressive knockdown was conducted, and assisted with overhaul of the structure. Our engine 602 responded with two members and operated on-scene for about one hour.

As we continue to improve our equipment for better service to our community, we also work to improve our skills. This past Saturday, our department worked on extrication from motor vehicle collisions. Scenarios were presented with vehicles in all different positions, presenting different challenges for rescuers.
Thank everyone for coming out Saturday night and supporting our tractor Pull . It looks like we had the largest crowd since we have started having the pull . And we really appreciate the support. I also want to thank everyone who helped us with putting the pull on and all the hours was put in before and after the pull. I am very grateful to have a great team to stand behind me and with me thanks again everyone see everyone next year.

Yesterday, at approximately 1:46pm, the Turbeville Fire-Rescue responded to a residential structure fire at 4161 Philpott Rd. Upon arrival, units found smoke and fire showing. A total of 5 stations responded to assist with the fire and crews were on-scene for approximately 3 hours.
