Halifax County Middle School PTO

Family just moved to the area and has a student that will be attending HCMS… can someone please provide me the information for the first day of school following the winter break and what time school starts?
We will be starting our fall fundraiser this Friday, 10/25. A packet will be sent home. Please consider doing some of your Christmas shopping from our catalog and asking family and friends to do the same. You can get some shopping done with little effort and help our school out. Your participation and support is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Update on Lions spirit wear... we have discovered inventory on hand so we are not placing an order. However, shirts and hoodies can be purchased at anytime through the main office or you can contact me at 434-222-8574. We will also be set up at the upcoming fall festival on 11/1, and plan to sell at basketball games. If you have questions, call or text me. Thanks.
The PTO will be sending home order forms for Lions spirit wear soon. Make plans to get a new Lions hoodie before the cooler weather gets here. I will be including pictures later to help with color and screen print selection. Thanks for supporting your school and showing school spirit.
The PTO is still collecting box tops. Please send in any you have that will expire in November. Starting after November there will be contests to win prizes for turning in box tops. Thank you for supporting your child’s school.

Do anyone know what's for lunch tomorrow and where I can get a menu? The menu isn't on the school's website.

Per Superintendent Mark Lineburg
HCPS: Good afternoon. This is Mark Lineburg, Superintendent of Halifax County Public Schools. We have missed a significant amount of instructional time this school year due to inclement weather. Today makes day 11 that students have missed. Therefore, we will need to begin making up lost time. Thursday, March 15, 2018 was scheduled to be an early dismissal day. Now, this will be a full instructional day with students dismissing at the regular dismissal time. Also, Friday March 16, 2018 was scheduled to be a professional development day for teachers. This now will also become a regular instructional day for students. In addition, April 20 will now be a full instructional day instead of an early dismissal day. Families, thanks for your patience as we work through this difficult weather season.

HCPS: Families, this is Mark Lineburg, superintendent of schools for Halifax County. The school shooting in Florida has shaken all of us. I want to assure you that we are in constant contact with law enforcement and are reviewing our crisis plans. In addition, we are soliciting their guidance regarding methods to improve school safety. Please note, students making inappropriate comments on social media and disrupting our school day will be punished to the fullest extent possible. Families, we ask for your help! We need to know when there is a threat. We also need you to help us monitor your child s social media activity to prevent inappropriate conversations that disrupt school. Together, we will make our schools safer! Thank you.
