To promote an athletic scholarship in loving memory of Robert "RJ" Oliver. The RJ Oliver Memorial Scholarship is a Limited Liability Company established in the fall of 2016 to commemorate the life and legacy of Robert Douglas Oliver, Jr.
His passion for sports and caring for others brought families and communities together. The purpose of this organization is to continue his legacy by supporting students in school and community sports who would not ordinarily have the opportunity or resources to participate.

UPDATE❗️❗️ The RJ Oliver Memorial Scholarship carwash has been rescheduled to MAY 18th, 2019 from 9am-3pm!!!! It’s still at Advanced Auto in Hupps Mill Plaza! See ya there!

The RJ Oliver Memorial Scholarship is now accepting applications for the 2018-2019 school year!!! We will award 3 eligible high school seniors this term and we are so excited to continue to service the community! The deadline for the scholarship is March 15th 2019! The RJ Oliver Memorial Scholarship will be hosting a fish fry on July 7th at the Heritage House in South Boston VA! The time will be from 11-4! Come out and enjoy hot fish plates and sandwiches for a good cause! The menu will be:
Fish plate combo: $8 (2 pieces of fish, 2 sides, a drink OR dessert)
Fish sandwich: $4
Sides: baked beans, Cole slaw, and French fries

ATTN Facebook Family: Saturday May 20th the RJ Oliver Memorial scholarship committee is having their first annual community day fundraiser and we need YOUR help! We are looking for vendors to make this day a huge success! If you own your own business, sell merchandise or want to promote your brand please come and be a part of this fundraiser. If you are interested in participating please contact Ann Malone, Kim Chandler, or message here for future details!
On Saturday, May 20th we will have the 1st Annual RJ Oliver Memorial Scholarship Fundraiser at Halifax County High School. The scholarship will go to a deserving young person in the Dixie League and or Varsity Football Player. The committee is in the beginning planning stages. We are looking for vendors interested in being a part of this special day. If you have simething you would like to sell or you just want to pass out information about something dear to you please Kim Chandler, here, or Ebony Oliver for more information. As most of you know or even if you didn't know RJ personally I'm sure you have heard countless people talk about what an amazing young man RJ was and how is presence will be felt forever. It was obvious at the candlelight vigil for him and his Homegoing service that he touched so many lives and he left wonderful memories that will last a life time. RJ was one of a kind a true gift from God. I hope to be half the person he was in his 19 years on this Earth. Ebony, Julia and Doug have endured unimaginable heartbreak and pain but they are some of the strongest people I know. For them and RJ I want this wonderful community to come together as we have so many other times on May 20th and show love, support and have lots of fun in memory of RJ.
