The Good Samaritan

Comments

Thanks to the News and Record and the Gazette-Virginia for the coverage for the turkeys donated by the Halifax Wild Turkey Federation, Food Lion, and H. and M. Logging to the Good Samaritan. Correction to one of the articles, I am the past president, Larry Martin is the President of the Good Samaritan. I understood that the past president is the presidential advisor and assistant for the first year. In other words, I am the President's "gofor".

Thanks you tot all those who have brought in children's coats for the families who need them for cold weather. Berry Hill Presbyterian Church donated two shopping carts of food to the Good samaritan on Monday. We have many county churches who donate food on a regular basis, Arbor Baptist Church in Elmo collects food every week. We have a need for cereal, canned meats, and spaghetti sauce to get us to Annual Mail Carriers food collection in 2020.
A big thank you to the National Wild Turkey Federation of the Halifax Area for their donation of 31 turkeys to the Good Samaritan for distribution to families chosen by the Halifax County Social Services, and the Good Samaritan volunteers. They were distributed on Monday 25 Nov. at 9:00 A..M. We would also like to thank Food Lion of Riverdale who helped with this distribution by giving the N.W.T.F. a discount on the the turkeys. Hope everyone has a great and safe Thanksgiving.
