Financial Aid Saturday is returning to SVHEC

Scholarship applications will be available this Saturday from 10am to 2pm @SVHEC. Applicants for Financial Aid need to bring tax records for 2019 and 2020.

If you're under 24 years old and do not have children, please bring your parents tax records. Also, bring your photo ID.

Global Center for Automotive Performance Simulation | Virginia Tech Transportation Institute

The Global Center for Automotive Performance Solutions (GCAPS) offers internship and $5,000 scholarship to Virginia Tech students.

Qualified students are those enrolling in their Junior year at Virginia Tech and are a resident of the City of Danville, Pittsylvania County, or Halifax County.

Eugenia P. Deas, the only African-American female welder at Charleston Naval Shipyard during WWII

While most women found work cooking and cleaning, Eugenia Powell Deas was the first African American welder during WW II at Charleston Naval Shipyard. Deas was tasked with welding little plates on the ship to protect it from leaks.

It was Halloweenie Time in October 2021 when students and staff members from Southern Virginia Higher Education Center , Southern Virginia Higher Education Foundation , Southside Virginia Community College, Danville Community College and Old Dominion University and Longwood University had a *Halloweenie Time*, dressing in costumes, eating 🌭 🌭 hotdogs and enjoying great fellowship with one another in the Courtyard at the Center.
