The St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Joseph County empowers individuals to attain self-sufficiency while maintaining their dignity. Founded in 1904, the St.
Joseph County began as a Catholic lay organization to meet the needs of the poor in our community. More than 100 years later, we are staying true to our mission. Since 1904, we have expanded our programs and now serve more than 60,000 people each year. We provide food, rent and utility assistance, clothing and household goods vouchers, and beds (to children). During the summer months, many in our community face increased challenges. With children out of school, seasonal jobs fluctuating, and utility bills increasing, the demand for our services rises. To help provide relief, the St. Vincent de Paul Society is kicking off our “100 Days of Summer” campaign, dedicated to supporting our neighbors and bringing hope to those who need it most.
100 Days of Summer | St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Joseph County During the 100 days of summer, as we face this increased need for our services, we need your help to provide critical services to those struggling in our community.

Thank you again Downtown South Bend for the exterior enhancement grant that allowed us to plant a garden for our food pantry. Today, we gathered our first harvest of fresh basil and cilantro, radishes and banana peppers! Your support is helping us provide nutritious food to neighbors in our community.

Each year, we serve more than 60,000 individuals in our community through our Program Center on Crescent Avenue and through our network of Catholic parishes. We provide financial assistance, emergency food, clothing vouchers, and educational resources to those in need.
