One of my favorite things about running the Fat Cat Lounge is that we get to see and hear some of the best musicians in the state (and beyond) every weekend. What really makes it special is getting to meet these dynamic, creative artists and spend some time with them. They have all been gracious, humble, and appreciative of the venue. Many have become good friends. They also spend time talking to our patrons after the show, take pics and sign autographs, etc. Please help us support these wonderful artists in this difficult time as touring is their chief source of income.
This weekend we have Jacqui Walker with Glenn Rexach on Friday and Sir Jay Asling flying in from Sweden to play with the Intercontinental Revue on Saturday.
It's just about time to dust off the beads and baubles and get ready for Mardi Gras. To get you started were serving up some Cajun staples we know you'll love - Seafood Gumbo or Red Beans and Rice, both with a piece of homemade Cornbread. Come out and hear Jacqui Walker on Friday or Sir Jay Asling on Saturday Night and keep the party going.
If you haven't heard Jacqui Walker sing yet, then you are really missing one of the best voices in Central Texas. Whether it's funky Soul, Blues, or straight up Rock, Jacqui's impassioned vocals are just sublime. Hear her sing with Guitarist Glenn Rexach this Friday from 7-9 for a truly remarkable experience. Here's a video of her last show here.
Sweden's "King of the Blues" is making his 2nd trip to the US and has gathered a supergroup of Austin musicians to back him. They are playing a handful of select gigs here in Texas over 10 days and then are taking the Intercontinental Revue on a tour of Europe. This is an incredible opportunity to see this amazing collection of talent, right here in Smithville for only $15. Check out a video of them below
