My son Hutson released his first song today, I Know His Name. I loved recording this beautiful song with him over the Christmas break. It was written with Andi Peltonen in the summer of 2024, and writing with my best friend again was such a wonderful treat! Reading in Luke 18 this morning. Are you a Pharisee or a sinner?
Below is a song I wrote about this passage. It’s an old song and video, maybe I should re-record it.
“To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everyone else, Jesus told this parable: “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’ “But the tax collector stood at a distance. Today we celebrate Hannah’s graduation from college. We are so proud of her and excited for her future. Two weeks ago I wrote this song, and thanks to the Lord, I was able to get it recorded and it released today! This is super fast and unexpected but I am so thankful to the Lord for putting these lyrics and melody in my heart. I know it will be encouraging to all parents and graduates this year and beyond!
Hannah, I dedicate this song to you, and I know you will do great things under the guidance and love of the Holy Spirit!
