Can we brag about the Outlaw Strings Club for a second?! 🎻🎶 Last week 22 students in grades 6-12 travelled up to Bellevue, WA to attend Wintergrass, a 4-day festival celebrating roots music traditions and participated in multiple programs where they got to expand their fiddling knowledge, learn new tunes, and experience lasting inspiration. To top it all off, the kids were invited to play in the most anticipated set of Wintergrass on Saturday night with Väsen and friends! They worked hard to learn a song called “Dragonship” in November and pulled off an epic performance alongside 4 trad legends on the festival’s biggest stage. 🙌

We've got some big news to share with our SFF community ❤️ After a prolific 30-year career in the nonprofit music and arts sector — a journey that began in Southwest Colorado in 1996 and brought her to Sisters in 2019 — our Executive Director, Crista Munro, is stepping away to pursue new ventures outside the industry.

We're so grateful for her incredible leadership, resulting in a period of unprecedented growth, rebranding, and modernization for our organization. The SFFP Board of Directors has launched a nationwide search for a new Executive Director to lead the organization into its next chapter. With 40+ years of experience and thousands of students taught worldwide, Bennett will guide you through this illustrator-favorite medium, from luminous washes to rich, opaque detail. You’ll learn core techniques, then have time to explore your own ideas in a small, supportive class. (Must be 18+ to participate)
