Doing a little hybrid woodworking on for these stop dados. The router leaves a rounded edge and need to be squared off to accept the panel.

Not only did i make a sign this weekend but I also got all the drawers installed in the cabinet. Including the mega drawer at the bottom. Feels good to have the cabinet fully functional. Now to build 4 doors and a drawer face. The end is in sight.

Had a pretty productive weekend. My brother had been asking me to make this sign for over a year and I promised him I would get it done before Christmas. Well mission accomplished, I’ve got 4 days to go. 😂 This is the first time I’ve created an engraved sign like this. Used 5/4 red oak to make the 30”x12” sign. My brother will be painting the letters to match the cabin paint and the surface will receive a clear coat. What last minute gifts are you all working on?

Made a lot of progress on the cabinet this weekend including knocking out this behemoth of a drawer. Dimensioned at 38”x 19”x 8”. Also learned a valuable lesson to always check the collet height on the router table. I adjusted my rabbiting bit up and didn’t notice the collet was above the table. Luckily this didn’t ruin the drawer but made an ugly burn/groove on the bottom of the drawer.

Got a little distracted playing with shadows.

I was able to knock out all the drawers for the cabinet this weekend. Well at least the dovetails. Still need to cut the dado for the bottoms and do some finish sanding. Slowly making progress.

Did a little testing for the drawers this weekend making half-blind dovetails. A slight adjustment and these will be ready to batch out.

After a little bit of wall painting the cabinet is FINALLY installed. Really happy with the choice of going two tone. The contrast adds a lot more visual interest. Next up... need to build six pullout trays and one large bottom drawer.

While demoing the kitchen cabinet this weekend we discovered a little blast from the past. Wall paper and linoleum tiles circa 1960’s?

Final coat has been applied. Now time to install 😳🤞

Finally making some progress on the kitchen pantry/floor to ceiling cabinet. I’ve got some finish sanding and a final coat to do but it’s coming along nicely. Can’t wait to get this beast out of the garage.
