Happy Flag Day from the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library & Museum
Today, we proudly honor the Stars and Stripes—a timeless symbol of freedom, unity, and the enduring spirit of America.
On June 14, 1777, the Continental Congress adopted the American flag, creating an emblem that has inspired generations of Americans to dream, serve, and persevere.
President Ronald Reagan often spoke of America's shining promise and the values represented by our flag. As we celebrate Flag Day, we reflect on the courage, sacrifice, and patriotism of those who have defended our nation and the freedoms we treasure.
Join us in honoring Old Glory and the ideals that continue to unite us as one nation under God.
Share your favorite American flag photo in the comments and tell us what the flag means to you.

Before a nation could be led, it first had to be declared.
In June 1776, Thomas Jefferson drafted what would become the Declaration of Independence, announcing the American colonies' decision to separate from Great Britain. Working alongside the Committee of Five, Jefferson helped shape a document that changed history forever.
At the Reagan Library's Situation Room Experience: Washington's Cabinet, step into the challenges facing America's first leaders and explore the difficult decisions that helped define our young republic.
History isn't just something to read—it's something to experience. Book your experience today at [email protected].

Happy Birthday to John Trumbull!
Born on June 6, 1756, Trumbull was an American painter and military officer best known for his historical paintings of the American Revolutionary War, of which he was a veteran. He has been called the "Painter of the Revolution."
Did you know that Trumbull's painting, “The Declaration of Independence”, is used on the reverse of the current United States two-dollar bill?
If you’d like to see paintings from John Trumbull's Revolutionary Series, including “The Declaration of Independence”, visit the Reagan Library for our brand new exhibit which marks two and a half centuries of American independence.
This once-in-a-generation exhibit opened on May 22nd, serves as both a reflection and a celebration of America’s 250 years of independence.

Thanks to the George Washington Teacher Institute for participating in the Situation Room Experience: George Washington’s Cabinet in May.
Teachers from across the country took part in a two-day educational program on the leadership of George Washington during the Revolution and Presidency. The teacher workshop included participating in the Situation Room Experience as they were transported back to 1793 to help shape the events our young nation faced during Washington’s second term.
During the two-hour simulation they were also challenged to sharpen their communication, decision-making, critical-thinking, and crisis management skills.
