Another great podcast highlighting the Big Scrub 150- congratulation to John Baughman
In this episode, we’re diving into John Baughman’s Big Scrub 150 Mile. Recently, John was on the chat as part of Jeff Iosa’s crew… and now he’s got it done! Joining us on the chat is his crew chief Kris Mehrling, Mark Gilman, and Race Director Joe Miller.
John has racked up an incredible ultrarunning resume with more than 1,000 miles logged on UltraSignUp such as the Arkansas Traveler, Long Haul 100, Across Florida 200 Virtual, Tunnel Hill 100, and the Potawatomi Trail Races - and if that’s not impressive enough, he’s done it all primarely barefoot.

Congratulations to John Baughman on getting the BS done in 46:27:37, currently placing him 3rd overall for the year. An incredibly hard-earned finish.
John can tell you himself, he had a few “choice words” for me out on the course about just how tough this thing really is. Turns out 150 miles through the Big Scrub is, in fact… some real BS.
Huge respect to John for digging deep, pushing through the lows, and earning his finish the hard way. Welcome to the list of BS finishers.

What a great weekend at the race. Congratulations to everyone who toed the line and embraced the challenge to get this beast of a race finished. Every runner out there showed grit, determination, and heart from start to finish.
Huge congratulations to our overall winner Carl Gilley, who laid down an impressive 12:06:48 finish, and to our DFL and first place female Jane Tagariello, who battled her way to an incredible 18:41:46 finish.
Different paces, different battles, same finish line. That’s what this sport is all about. Welcome to The Unit.

Currently at 98 miles, the next crew stop will have Joseph over 100 miles deep into the BS. Still in good spirits but slowing down a lot. Some pacers and food is going to do him a great service.
