Ha! Who watched the eclipse? We didn't make it to totality, but had a great time hiking up a mountain to see great views and our 85% or so.

I love going to readings at Politics and Prose to support folks I know. This week it was Jerri Bell & Tracy Crow, co-editors of It's My Country Too, an important book about the history of women in the armed services, told in their own words through primary sources.

I know Jerri through her great work with the Veterans Writing Project.

Had a great time at the Annapolis Book Festival yesterday - thanks for having us! Even got to sign some books. And it made my day to learn that one of my fellow panelists and co-essayists is using Retire the Colors in his class at the university where he's teaching, and students have really liked my essay.
