This business evolved from the quality of life assessments I offered with Solace. When the pandemic hit, many of these visits occured virtually with great success and feedback. My Pet’s Advocate is expanding the conversations to reach pet families that need longer conversations to help them with difficult medical and quality of life decisions throughout their pet’s life. Wherever you are on your pet’s journey, I’m here for the conversations that matter.
Helping you go from a confused and worried pet owner to confident pet advocate.
Making critical medical decisions for your pet can be heartbreaking — especially if you feel unsure about your options.
My Pet’s Advocate takes the confusion and fear out of the decision-making process so you can take your next steps with confidence.
Our process is simple…
During an hour-long session, we’ll discuss your pet’s unique personality, health condition, and lifestyle.
After our assessment, you’ll better understand your pet’s health and how to weigh their care options.

I would like to thank all the amazing families that we have helped over the past 8 years. It has been a true honor to be invited into your homes to help at one of life’s most difficult times. I have seen so much love (and so many tears) for your furry family members. I will carry your stories with me.
Thank you for your trust.

Look whose in the Washington Post! Thank you Kathryn Streeter for a wonderful article about the value of in-home euthanasia.
Perspective | How at-home euthanasia can provide comfort to pets and owners At-home euthanasia offers pets the solace of home and can be less stressful for owners. It also provides an opportunity to prepare rituals, include children and grieve privately.

COVID-19 is disrupting their lives too!
Pet Stress Has Increased During COVID-19, Bringing Behavior Problems As the COVID-19 pandemic closes many schools for the rest of the year and confines nonessential workers and the unemployed to staying at home, many of us are going a little stir crazy, not to mention experiencing feelings of anxiety about what the future holds. Even the youngest elementary school ki...

I have worked for years in the field of death and dying. In my profession, with animals and in my volunteer life with humans. It has become clear to me that life is a series of loves, losses, grief and healing. A beloved pet, a favorite pair of shoes, a friendship, or in this time in our country...a loss of normalcy. https://hbr.org/2020/03/that-discomfort-youre-feeling-is-grief?fbclid=IwAR0fKoaxDhDMqxaWclO8EtDexAeCZyxhlSvnLWeIbt-mpzqGO9ZZdAPYqzI

A wonderful story about the power and love of animals.
Pet Therapy: How the Cat I Never Wanted Saved My Life My husband and I adopted our cat, Franklin, on a cold November day. It was one of the last days that Andrew felt well enough to leave the house to go anywhere other than to chemotherapy or a doctor’s appointment. Our news at these appointments had shifted toward the negative, with disease progress...

This story rang true for me in many ways. Having lost a brother and two parents over a 3 year period, I have seen how one clings to life, despite enormous challenges. I see it in my patients as well. I also see the struggles that their families endure. I am not sure I believe in life for the sake of life. I think it is a gift and a mercy to be able to set these spirits free from a mind and body that is no longer serving.
Perspective | I cared for my dying parents. How is caring for my dying dog just as bad? I thought it would be easier to care for an old dog than an old human — or maybe harder. Strangely, it wasn't.
