Little expressive wave painting study 🌊

“The Feeling of Water: Memory”
Oil on canvas
This expressive seascape captures the ocean’s stormy energy through the softened lens of memory. Dreamlike and distant, the wave evokes how we remember nature—not in sharp detail, but in emotion, movement, and haze.

Just finished my latest piece “Siesta Glow" (24" x 36"). Some areas are still wet and others dry, so I’ll likely revisit it next week for a few touch-ups. For now, it’s time to take a step back, let it breathe, and see how it settles.

This vertical composition has been a teacher in its own right- challenging me through both composition and color study. I’m continually fascinated by color theory- What I initially saw as purples in the clouds are actually full of grays and browns, transformed by the warmth of those sunset tones.

This painting pushed me in all the right ways, and I’ve grown a lot from it. I’m proud of the result, and excited for what’s next!

NEW PAINTING 🎨 “Where the Light Lingers” 24”x36” oil on canvas; will be adding to my website soon!

Where the Light Lingers
Oil on canvas

This painting was inspired by Florida’s Gulf Coast, where the sky often steals the show. In Where the Light Lingers, I focused on capturing the warm, radiant colors of a sunset just as they begin to fade into dusk. I chose to keep the foreground and water more abstract to preserve the viewer’s focus on the luminous sky. The path leading into the scene offers a quiet sense of invitation—toward stillness, reflection, and the lingering light of day’s end.

I’ve been quietly working on my largest seascape collection these past few months *that I will be releasing soon* but I’ve also entered my gardening era during this time 😅 so Here’s a peek at some of the florals I’ve started when inspiration struck 💡
For now, they will be lovingly sitting in the corner of my studio waiting for their chance to bloom ✨
