Please help us find Tiger. His home is off of Foothills and Paseo Las Palmas, SV. He's been missing for a three days or so. Very skittish, has been chipped and registered to my mom, who since passed away. Please call Bob at 459-2855 with any sightings, capture or even death. Thank you so much for your help.
Hi, Can everyone keep their eyes open for my brother's cat. He's extremely skittish with strangers. His name is Tiger, he is chipped and is an older cat. Tiger was lost off of Foothills and Paseo Las Palmas. Please call Bob at 520-732-3653 dead or alive. Thank you so much.
Titus, a 5 year old American Staffordshire Terrier, is on his second stay with the shelter. His person lost her place to live, so she brought him to the shelter so he could have a more stable environment while she looks for somewhere new. He's nervous about all the noise, and doesn't always want to walk very far from the safety of his kennel. Titus deserves a nice, quiet place to destress from all the recent confusing changes in his life.

To support the Nancy J. Brua Animal Care Center with assistance for emergency medical care and rehabilitation of shelter pets and to increase public awareness of animal health and welfare issues in Cochise County

The Friends of the SV Animal Shelter had it's true beginnings when several community members took an interest in trying to help provide supplies and services that the City of Sierra Vista could not provide for their shelter pets.

Meet Primrose -Update -Adopted!!!!!

Primrose, 7-8 year old Siamese female. Petite, very affectionate, rubs, purrs…loves to be with her person. She lived with a large group of well-loved kitties so would do well as either a solo or with companions, perhaps one of the cats she lived with previously.

No doubt you are aware that the Nancy J. Brua Animal Care Center is full.

“We currently have over 100 pets in our care at the facility and over 20 in foster care,” she said. “All the courtyard dog adoption kennels are 100% full, and both cat and dog adoptions have been really slow. I guess you could say I’m a little nervous about the situation.” Arleen Garcia, Supervisor, Herald/Review, 10 Oct.

Maybe you can help?!?!?!

Meet Nora

This is Nora's 4th time back at the shelter. The 1st time she was found as a stray, the second time she didn't get along with the small dog in the home, 3rd time was turned in because she would p*e when she gets excited, and the last time was because she was not getting along with the other dog in the home. Nora may need to be the only dog in the home.
This girl really needs a home that will be dedicated in providing her a FURever home. We really hope the 5th time is a charm.

Yesterday the staff of the Nancy J. Brua Animal Care Center had to say good bye to our long time shelter mascot, Rambo Robert Brua.

To say that Rambo was very special may seem cliché, however, everyone that knew him could not deny that special is the best word to describe him.

Rambo's personality and quirks were quite unique. He was my road buddy for a while when I was a road officer. Rambo knew more shelter secrets than anyone else for all the times he was in my office while I had private meetings with the staff or with the bosses. Luckily, he knew how to keep a secret.

Rambo had been through so much, that his resilience could not be denied. Everyone at the shelter probably has a Rambo story to tell.

Over the years, Rambo became a little cranky and a little gassy. He destroyed more beds than I can count, but we still loved him no matter what.

Rambo Robert, you will be terribly missed.

Love you!

Our Story

The Board for this charity is comprised of animal lovers. No salaries are paid...it is a 100% volunteer group. This charity has no employees and no office, thus very little in the way of overhead costs.

While we would be thrilled to be able to do for each and every homeless pet, our monies will always have limits. We will never be able to provide on-going expensive care. We are in hopes of being able to fund the one-time grooming or the one-time surgery to rehabilitate a previously unadoptable shelter pet so they have the same opportunity for adoption that the animals with no physical or appearance issues have.

We welcome any and all community members throughout Sierra Vista and Cochise County to become involved in our organization.
