A resolution to amend Sec.101-Eligbility was presented for vote at the 108th National Convention in Kansas City. The resolution was adopted.

As of September 1, 2021, the amended text states:

They must also: Profess a belief in God
Be not less than sixteen (16) years old.
Any current VFW member or any person eligible to join the VFW shall not be eligible to join the Auxiliary.
Women who joined the Auxiliary prior to August 21, 2015 who are current members or are eligible for membership in the VFW shall be eligible for the Auxiliary so long as their membership remains current.

How exciting... can't wait to see them flying around.

The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds will visit Fort Huachuca Oct. 19-21, to conduct survey flights. The installation is one of many being visited by the elite aerial demonstration team for this purpose.
“We are proud to host the Thunderbirds for a visit and look forward to showing them the unique capabilities of our beautiful high desert home,” said Garrison Commander Col. Jarrod Moreland.
The team will not perform an aerial demonstration during its visit, however the community may see their distinctive red, white and blue F-16s in our skies.
The extraordinary skies of Fort Huachuca’s airspace encompasses more than 946 square miles. The fort is home to the world’s largest unmanned aircraft training site and supports eight tenant aviation units and six off-site customers. Over 130K manned/unmanned flight operations are conducted here per year.
The Thunderbirds perform for people all around the world to display the pride, precision and professionalism the U.S. Air Force represents. In addition to showing the elite skills all pilots must possess, the Thunderbirds demonstrate the incredible capability of the Air Force’s premier multi-role fighter jet, the F-16 Fighting Falcon. Created in 1958, the Thunderbirds are based at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada.
The Thunderbirds are scheduled to participate in the Thunder and Lightning over Arizona air show at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, in Tucson, Nov. 6 and 7.
Learn more about the Thunderbirds at www.airforce.com/thunderbirds/overview. Follow them on Facebook or Twitter @Air Force Thunderbirds.

The VFW Auxiliary offers cancer grants to members who are battling cancer. Eligibility requirements:
• Applicant must be a member of the VFW Auxiliary for one (1) full year.
• Current dues must be paid before applying for a cancer grant.
• After twelve (12) months have passed from date of diagnosis or last treatment, application will not be accepted.
• A member is allowed two (2) grants during lifetime. Twelve (12) months must elapse between new diagnosis and/or treatment from date of first grant for a second application to be considered. Continuous treatment which lasts beyond the twelve (12) month period will qualify for a second grant.
• Application will be rejected if member has been deceased for longer than 30 days.

The grant amount is currently $550.00 and funds are paid directly to the member or, in the case of a deceased member, to their estate. Funds are dispersed 2-4 weeks following the acceptance and approval of the completed and signed application. Click here for the most up-to-date application: http://bit.ly/2wvbhyJ.
