The Nancy J. Brua Animal Care Center is hosting an upcoming spay/neuter clinic on Oct. 7 and has vouchers available!

Dog and cat owners from Sierra Vista and the surrounding areas can visit the shelter to purchase a $20 voucher for a clinic, while supplies last. Cash or check only. There are a limited number of spaces in each clinic, so act fast! The shelter is open Tuesday-Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. Call the shelter at (520) 458-4151 to learn more.

The surgeries will be performed by ASAVET Charities and are sponsored by the Friends of the SV Animal Shelter and the City of Sierra Vista.

Please remember to treat flashing red traffic signals just like stop signs! Stop, make sure it’s your turn and safe to go, then proceed through the intersection.

Due to construction along Fry Boulevard in the West End, the traffic signals on Fry at Carmichael, North, and Garden avenues are often flashing red. Monsoon storms can also bring lightning that sometimes causes signals to revert to flashing red.

The Sierra Vista Police Department is proud to be sending five more recruits to the Southeast Arizona Law Enforcement Training Academy (SEALETA) at the Cochise College campus in Douglas on Monday! Over the course of the next 17 weeks, the recruits will complete more than 600 hours of training that will include criminal and traffic law, the U.S. Constitution, fi****ms, defensive tactics, driving, and more. We look forward to their graduation day and are excited to welcome five more officers to our extraordinary #SVPolice family.

The nonprofit organization K9 Heroes is at Walmart today and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. accepting donations to provide the #SVPolice K9 units with Emergency Medical Kits to treat K9's wounded or injured on the job. The kits are designed specifically for K9's and include: Narcann, bandages, Quick Clot, and many other items needed in case of an emergency.
