Join us for the Fall 2023 Muses Study Series this October! The series, led by Dr. Jeff Hendricks '75, will focus on the short stories of Ernest Hemingway.

Ernest Hemingway (1899-1961) is considered one of America's greatest writers. His short fiction and novels, through their direct and natural style, and their international locales, have been extremely influential since Hemingway first started publishing as part of "The Lost Generation" in Paris in the early 1920s. In the 1930s he moved to Key West and wrote about the Spanish Civil War. In the 1940s he reported on World War II. Winner of the 1954 Nobel Prize for Literature, Hemingway has come to embody the writer as self-conscious adventurer who clearly and objectively observes the world around him.
