Ernest Hemingway (1899-1961) is considered one of America's greatest writers. His short fiction and novels, through their direct and natural style, and their international locales, have been extremely influential since Hemingway first started publishing as part of "The Lost Generation" in Paris in the early 1920s. In the 1930s he moved to Key West and wrote about the Spanish Civil War. In the 1940s he reported on World War II.
