The Southern Hills Business Assn luncheon today with John Nickelson.

VOTE NO! This is NOT good government.
There is no transparency and this will not make you safer. Ask your commissioner for specifics!
The Caddo Parish Commission has proposed a “Criminal Justice Millage” for your approval on October 14, 2023.
PLEASE read the language of the millage and read my comments before you vote.
NO law enforcement agency (the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office nor the Shreveport Police Department) was included in any discussions or decisions about what is being proposed.
For years law enforcement has desperately needed more bed space to house dangerous juveniles. This need was critical even before the recent change in the law classifying 17 year olds as juveniles. This change has made it necessary for your safety that we have more bed space, yet additional bed space is NOT included in this proposed millage.
What is included if this passes is that your tax money will be going to unspecified community and economic development programs that the Caddo Parish Commission determines relate to criminal justice and your safety.
This millage does not provide what law enforcement has determined to be our most critical need for your safety.
We need bed space for violent offenders to make you safer and bed space is NOT in this millage. VOTE NO!!!!
