Southfield School spent last week getting pumpkins ready for the 31st annual Pumpkin Shine!

We cannot wait to see the wonderful creations all of our local schools, nonprofits, and business sponsors came up with to make Betty Virginia Park shine ✨

🎃 What is Pumpkin Shine?
Pumpkin Shine is a community art display of decorated pumpkins that line the walking trails of Shreveport’s Betty Virginia Park - for one night only! The paths will glow with the light of nearly 1,000 jack-o-lanterns and painted pumpkin displays from 4:00 – 8:00pm on Tuesday, October 17th. This event is hosted by Southfield School and Shreveport Public Assembly and Recreation (SPAR). Pumpkin Shine encourages a love of art by showcasing the work of creative young minds from many local area schools. This collaborative local event enriches our community, fosters local connection, and allows our school to give back to a city-wide favorite and staple for family fun, Betty Virginia Park.

🌳 The community is invited to stroll through the park to enjoy the numerous themed displays from many local schools, churches, non-profit organizations, and businesses. 🎶 Area school bands, choirs, and cheerleaders will preform from the main stage 🥪🍪 Food will be available for purchase from many local vendors - COME HUNGRY! 🍽 There will be face painting and lots of family fun ✨ This is event is FREE to attend and open to the public! Security is provided.

💰 Cash prizes will be awarded to three local school art programs who are selected by local judges to have the best and most creative decorated pumpkin displays!

🚐 FREE Shuttle Service will be transporting between St. Vincent Mall parking lot and Betty Virginia Park
