Gratitude. 🤎

It seemed to come instantaneously during pregnancy. It helped me through the beginning of covid and continues to keep me afloat during the first few months of parenthood. Currently I have an active practice, wherein MOST nights I go to bed listing a number of things I am grateful for. Using the word listing doesn’t seem to give credence to the practice... as I sit and try to embody the feeling of gratitude for both the simple and large things. Embodying this feeling of gratitude seems to help me feel more joy and light.

Though it seems easy when there is a beautiful baby I get to nurse and hold, there are moments when it all seems like too much. Sometimes I wish I can be hands free for just enough time to wash dishes or get a bath and, to be honest, I wish for my old body back and I miss aspects of my other relationships.
And sometimes doing the practice literally doesn’t feel genuine and doesn’t give me the embodied feeling but I’ll DO IT ANYWAY.

I started to actively practice gratitude to work toward a state of awe, to find joy in the seemingly redundant and to remember that there is love and support in the miracle of every little thing.

I am grateful for the support I have, the home I live in and the work I’ve done until now to help me at this time. 🤍

I’m back!!! Not really... not just yet. What a year it has been from the journey to and through pregnancy! The transition into my role as mother to sweet Vera Mae has meant changes in the way I spend my time. And from what I can tell, it will continually evolve as she (and I) grow and develop. Currently, I am working out some ideas to offer bits of my journey and pieces of how yoga and it’s philosophy assist me in striving toward #balanced choices in everyday life.

I look forward to offering yoga, meditation and lifestyle tips both online and in person. I am grateful for where I am and excited to see what the future holds! Please stay updated and follow me here!

Studio Stretch

A message from our founder, Brittany:

“On Friday, 7/10 we had a full class of 7 students per “social distancing” guidelines which was led by me. We learned today that a student in that class tested positive for COVID-19 via a rapid test taken this morning, 7/14. All students in that class were immediately notified and myself and another instructor who was exposed were then tested via rapid test. And while we both received negative results (for the second time in a week) it has forced me to face some hard truths.

It is now evident to me that even with all of our cleaning and sanitation protocols, safety checks, social distancing and urging students to stay home if they don’t feel well there is still risk of exposure because the symptoms are ever changing and some people are asymptomatic which results in them coming to class because they don’t feel sick. And while we require masks off the mat, what is that really helping if we take them off for class?

Because of that and the rapid increase of cases in our area over the past week, I do not feel it is in the best interest of our instructors, members and the community at-large to continue in-studio classes at this time. Therefore we will move to virtual classes until we feel it is safe to reopen the studio.

Single virtual classes can be registered for via MINDBODY just as you would a regular, in-studio class. 30 minutes prior to class you will receive a link that will take you to the virtual studio for your practice. Drop-in rates, class packs and memberships apply.

We also offer unlimited access to our on-demand library of classes for only $25 / month. An updated link to the library is sent via email every Monday where you will then have access to all classes anytime you like. This library is included in unlimited studio memberships.

It breaks my heart to cancel in-person classes but my gut is truly telling me this is the most responsible thing to do. I cannot thank you enough for your support and patience as we navigate all of this unchartered territory . Please stay safe and If you have any questions do not hesitate to contact me directly”.

Studio Stretch

First and foremost, we cannot begin to express our gratitude for your support and patience over the past 8 weeks. This community is nothing short of amazing and we are so thankful for you. Your health and safety has always been our top priority and will continue to be so as we slowly and carefully begin to execute a plan to reopen.

It was announced today the state of Louisiana will be lifitng the stay at home order on Friday which will allow select business to open with capacity restrictions and masks. While "gyms / fitness centers" fall into the category of businesses allowed to reopen, we do not believe it would be in the best interests of this community to reopen for in-studio classes at this time. Again, your health and safety has always been and will continue to be our top priority.

With that being said, we will be offering outdoor yoga at the fountain in front of the studio and various parks / neighborhoods around the city beginning Monday, 5/18. These classes will be posted on MindBody this Thursday and you can register for them just as you would a normal, in-studio class. In keeping with social distancing, we will be limiting the class sizes so pre-registration is highly recommended. If you register for a class and cannot make it please cancel ASAP to allow everyone a chance to practice. You will be asked to sign a Covid-19 waiver prior to class and must bring your own mat & props.

It is our plan to then open the studio for classes on Monday, 6/1. This will be a slow, deliberate process where we will limit the number of classes, class sizes and update studio procedures in adherance with govenment mandates and guidance from industry leaders including the Yoga Alliance. More information to come!

In the meantime, online classes will continue via YouTube as well an on-demand library you will be able to access via Mindbody in the coming weeks. Even once the studio reopens we will continue with virtual AND outdoor offerings!

ZOOM interactive classes are now available! Here’s everything you need to know to join in, right from home!

Registering for ZOOM classes:
- You can register for and purchase ZOOM classes in the Mindbody app just like you would for a regular, in-studio class. You can also access via link below.

- UNLIMITED MONTHLY & YEARLY MEMBERS: these classes are included in your membership.
- CLASS PACK HOLDERS: you can use a class credit to purchase.

- Be sure to sign up at least 30 minutes before class starts so we have time to send you log in info & you have time to get logged in.
Log in at least five minutes early so the instuctor can let you in & to test your audio and video, so you’re ready to go when class starts. We will be unable to let you in once the class begins.

Accessing ZOOM classes
- We will e-mail you a link to the class as soon as we see your registration in our system. YOU MUST REGISTER AT LEAST 30 MINUTES PRIOR.
- If you do not receive the link 10-15 minutes before class, please reach out and we can re-send the video link.
- If you are viewing via phone or tablet you will need to download the "ZOOM" app prior to class. - - - - Desktops require no extra action - just click the link!

Studio Stretch Update

The State of Louisiana’s “Stay At Home” order has been extended through 5/15. Therefore we will remain closed for in-studio classes at this time.
We are dedicated to continuing to bring you daily, online classes for your at home practice but we need your support to do so!

Purchase a subscription to our YouTube channel where we currently have 50 classes in our on-demand library with new offerings added daily.

Non-members can subscribe for a one-time fee of $35. This fee helps compensate instructors for teaching on-line classes.
Upon purchase of the subscription you will receive channel link via the e-mail you provide. Link to purchase in bio.

In addition, we are offering daily, live classes via a private Facebook group for unlimited members. If you are not an unlimited member you can purchase access to the group for a one time fee of $35. Link in bio to purchase.
