Mr. Balentine worked in Central Louisiana in the plumbing industry obtaining the title of Journeyman Plumber. Working for the same company that completed the plumbing, air conditioning and heating for the New Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home in Smithville, LA. Mr. Balentine was placed in the unique opportunity to become the Administrator and ran the nursing home form 1964-1965

In 1966 Mr. Balentine and his family moved to Bossier City and he worked alongside the Price group to build and act as Administrator of Midway Manor Nursing Home, at that time one of the largest nursing homes in the state. In 1969 Mr. Balentine built, owned and acted as administrator for Shreveport Manor Nursing Home and in 1974 built Roseview Nursing Center as well.
