The Shreveport Little Theatre (SLT) is thrilled to announce open auditions for Stephen Sondheim’s Tony Award-winning musical masterpiece, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Auditions will take place on Saturday, June 28, 2025, beginning at 2:00 PM with individual audition slots. All roles are open and performers of all experience levels are encouraged to audition.🎭

An infamous tale, Sweeney Todd, an unjustly exiled barber, returns to nineteenth-century London, seeking vengeance against the lecherous judge who framed him and ravaged his young wife. The road to revenge leads Todd to Mrs. Lovett, a resourceful proprietress of a failing pie shop, above which, he opens a new barber practice. Mrs. Lovett's luck sharply shifts when Todd's thirst for blood inspires the integration of an ingredient into her meat pies that has the people of London lining up... and the carnage has only just begun!👏

Audition Details:
🎭Date: Saturday, June 28, 2025
🎭Time: Beginning at 2:00 PM (Individual audition slots)
🎭Location: Shreveport Little Theatre, 812 Margaret Place, Shreveport, LA
🎭Prepare 16-32 bars of a classic musical theatre piece in the style of the show. An accompanist will be provided, so bring sheet music in your key.
🎭Prepare a 45-second to one-minute monologue in the style of the show.

Rehearsals for the production will begin on August 25, 2025, and the show will open on October 17, 2025, slated for a two-weekend run. Directed and choreographed by SLT Artistic Director Laura Beeman Nugent with Musical Direction by Eddie Carney, SLT’s Sweeney Todd promises to be a thrilling production.⭐️

We're looking for a dedicated Theatre Manager to join our team! This part-time position (Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.) with occasional weekend work offers a fantastic opportunity to be at the heart of our operations.

Position Overview:
As Theatre Manager, you'll oversee front-of-house and box office ticketing services, maintain our theater facility, and manage Box Office, Front of House, and maintenance staff. Your role ensures a professional, safe, and welcoming environment for all patrons, artists, staff, and volunteers, supporting our mission as a nonprofit community-based organization.

Details:
Hours: Part-time, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Compensation: $13-15/hr based on experience

During her time at Shreveport Little Theatre, Kelly helped secure vital grant funding, led key facility repairs, established strong admin systems, launched our first-ever Season Announcement Fundraiser, and was selected to join the 2025 Nonprofit Capacity Building Cohort.

Her impact in just over a year has been profound, and while we will miss her, we are so proud of her new role in ministry.
