I was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and medically discharged from the Navy after being the victim of a Military Sexual Trauma (MST). Taking the path of least resistance, I turned to drugs and alcohol to fight the darkness that had consumed me. My heart which was once filled with love and Jesus Christ, had fallen dark and cold, destroyed by the trauma. I spent over a decade living on the streets, hoping to find peace by getting high but instead found myself in and out of jail, rehab, psychiatric units, and even on life support after attempting to take my own life.
