In August of 2022, Congress passed a bill with bi-partisan support mandating that inserted button cell batteries be sealed in child-proof packaging after the horrific death of an 18-month-old child who had swallowed what’s commonly known as coin battery. This new law affects those who use hearing aid batteries because the new packaging is more secure (child-proof). New Hearing Aid Battery Packaging Could Pose Problems for Seniors | Welsch Hearing Aid Company Audiologists and Hearing Aid Specialists alike are concerned that new safety packaging may cause seniors to avoid their batteries. Others have commented online that they think this new law will lead to more hearing aid users opting for rechargeable hearing aids.

For those participating in Bike & Walk Week in Sheboygan, we want to encourage your 👂🏼hearing safety👂🏼. Even at a mere 15 miles per hour, wind noise can cause hearing loss for cyclists. While it is unsafe to try and prevent that with ear plugs, wearing a buff or other permeable ear protection can help mitigate the wind noise while still allowing cyclists to hear traffic noises. Hey Everyone! This week I, Susan L Fenrich, owner of Welsch Hearing Aid Company, and my husband, Dave have been attending the 2023 AudBoss summit in Nashville. Education is key to be the Best in Hearing Assistance.

During this conference we have listened to many speakers, met with many vendors, ate alot of food and had some fun. I even got to meet Dr. Cliff, one of the leading hearing experts that many of you have probably seen on line.
