Congratulations to Cadet Annalise Hasler on her enlistment in the Army Reserve and enrollment as an Army ROTC cadet through Liberty University in the SMP program!

SMP, or the "Simultaneous Membership Program" allows students to serve in the U.S. Army Reserve and be a member of their college’s ROTC program. This program will give her valuable experience in the Army as she pursues college full-time. Cadet Hasler will also be able to graduate without student loans with the tuition and room & board awards she has received.

It was a special moment as Annalise's father administered her Oath of Enlistment. Well done, Cadet Hasler!

🎂 Today is the 249th Birthday of the United States Army, and we are celebrating 249 years of our Soldiers’ service to our Nation. Since 1775, the US Army has answered the call to defend and support America and will continue to do so in the future.
🇺🇸 Thank you to all of our recruiters for inspiring the next generation of service.

80 years ago, General Eisenhower issued this order of the day to the forces under his command on D-Day. He had begun working on his draft in February, knowing that what he was asking of them would be all that they could give. He knew that the beginning of our victory would be the end for many. Today we remember the courage of all those who fought in support of the D-Day invasion of Normandy.

You are about to embark upon the Great Crusade, toward which we have striven these many months. The eyes of the world are upon you. The hope and prayers of liberty-loving people everywhere march with you. In company with our brave Allies and brothers-in-arms on other Fronts, you will bring about the destruction of the German war machine, the elimination of N**i tyranny over the oppressed peoples of Europe, and security for ourselves in a free world.
Your task will not be an easy one. Your enemy is will-trained, well-equipped and battle-hardened. He will fight savagely.
I have full confidence in your courage, devotion to duty and skill in battle. We will accept nothing less than full Victory!
Good luck! And let us beseech the blessing of Almighty God upon this great and noble undertaking.

On Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Their courage, dedication, and love for our country will forever be etched in our hearts.

This is the 40th anniversary of Military Spouse Appreciation Day, which was first recognized by President Reagan in 1984. Today and every day, we thank our US Army spouses for everything you do for our Soldiers, our Families, and our Nation.
Military spouses are often asked to go above and beyond to support their servicemembers' careers. Frequent moves, deployments, training, and travel can pull our Soldiers away from home. As a result, our spouses are strong, resilient, and ready to face challenges to support us all.
And if you're reading this and you HAVE a military spouse -- maybe stop on the way home and grab him or her a treat or some flowers. :)

On April 23, the Army Reserve will celebrate 116 years of service of our Citizen Soldiers who stand ready to answer the call to serve, bringing critical skills and capabilities to the Nation, while defending America’s freedoms and liberties.

The Army Reserve is the dedicated federal reserve of the Army, providing mission-critical forces, skills and capabilities to the Army and the Joint Force in support of U.S. national security interests and Army commitments worldwide.

Celebrating the Change of Responsibility for the Legends Battalion! We wish Command Sergeant Major Shateria Rahming a fond farewell and welcome Command Sergeant Major Claudia Whitney as she takes the reins as Legends 7.
What a powerful reminder of the strength and perspective our women leaders bring to the fight every day. We could think of no better way to honor Women's History Month than a ceremony that highlights the contribution that women make to our Non-Commissioned Officer Corps and our Battalion.

In 1971, women made up just 1% of the U.S. military services. Ten years later, that number had increased to 8.5%.
