We had some busy bees helping beautify our entrance. They collected NINE wheelbarrow loads of weeds! But, that's just a start...
If there are any families that are just itching to do some yard work this summer, we'd love some help getting our grounds back in order! Feel free to stop by and pull weeds, especially in the parking lot or around the front entrance.
Tomorrow is our LAST day of school. Pigeon River dismisses at 11:45 am. There is NO KidStop, so please plan accordingly!

Instead of our Supply Drop Off, we will be moving forward with Great Start Conferences. Please save August 28 from 3 PM to 7 PM and August 29 from 8 AM to 12 PM. As part of these conferences, you will have one-on-one time with your childās teacher for 15 minutes. You will receive information, be able to ask questions, and drop off school supplies. Be sure to bring your child with you to the conference! Please reference the attached Save the Date for more information.
Friday we started the 5th grade celebration festivities with our traditional school-wide parade. Congratulations 5th graders. You will all be greatly missed! We are so proud of each one of you!

Kindergarten had a great day at Bookworm Gardens! There was so much to explore and we had so much fun!

Each year, the Sheboygan Area School District and the Sheboygan Education Association partner to donate to a specific cause. This year, we are pleased to announce the creation of the Sheboygan Education Association Scholarship.
Scholarship Details:
Awarded to a graduating SASD senior who intends to start a career in education.
Begins in the 2024-2025 school year.
Will be awarded annually, to one student.

The fifth graders a Pigeon in River spent two days at the Sheboygan County Marsh learning about the importance of wetlands. They saw animals and explored the area. They also discovered that the marsh is healthy by studying the diversity of the macro invertebrates found in the water.

Tonightās science fair was a hit! Great job to our participants for all of their hard work on their science experiments. Thanks for those who attended the event. Special thanks to Mrs. Mentink and Mrs. Korkko for planning the event and our teachers who helped judge the event.
Today our Bees of the Month earned open gym. It was awesome to see kids from different classes and grade levels playing together!

Yesterday Pigeon River teachers ventured out into the community and enjoyed some quality time with many of our students and met new friends in the neighborhood!
May 1st is Principal's Day, and we'd be amiss if we didn't recognize our amazing Principal, Dr. Ramos. She is patient, reliable, caring, and supportive. She encourages both staff and students, and models that same attitude in everything she does.

Position Title: Reading Corps Tutor
Make a difference in your community and join our team as a Reading Corps Tutor. Pigeon River is looking for tutors to help students who need extra help with reading.
Reading tutors meet one-on-one with students in kindergarten through third grade to help them become better readers. With training and on-site coaching, weāll prepare you to help kids succeed.
This is an AmeriCorps member position with Reading Corps. Together, weāre on a mission to help more kids become strong readers because kids who read have the power to succeed!

Tonightās Dancinā Through the Decades by our wonderful PTO was a success! Thank you to our PTO members, staff, families and community members who donated or volunteered. Also, thank you everyone for coming!
Last week Pigeon Piver fifth graders were able to go to the John Michael Kohler Art Center. They saw lots of exhibits, including one by Hmong artists. They were than able to work with an artist in residence and created coffee cakes that will be part of an installation at the museum.
Tonight was such a great night at McTeacher Night connecting with families and students past and present. We have the best teachers and families!
We made $910.00 at McTeacher night tonight. Thanks to all who came out to support our school!
