We are now carrying locally grown veggies a la carte! You can add your favorite seasonal veggies to your Basket with all your other favorites.
Purchasing seasonal veggies is important...
It supports your local economy and stimulates farmers for their growing season. It lowers the distance traveled for your food, making it a fresher harvest.
It creates a smaller impact on the growing seasons, letting nutrients build back up, instead of constant wear on soil health with year-round demand.
It creates fewer hands on your food and lowers environmental imprint. There are so many more reasons to shop seasonally and local!
Whew! It's been a while since education was an important part of the schedule. But it's almost time to get started!
With all the changes occuring, who would be interested in a low cost, co-op style, small group academic program? We are thinking of offering some type of schedule to accommodate families in the area that need a break!
Let me know who's interested and what you would like to see.
We like to have PE with our cow! Moe's a sweet boy!

Conor has worked this piece of land intensively. It took a lot of perseverance and determination to get it where it is today. He's learned valuable skills through the farm internship program we provide here at Barefoot Farms. Building these skills are what makes community stronger.
This week was the highlight of all the hard work; we got to plant all the crops! So many great things will be coming from this soil. I can't wait to watch it all grow and help the interns continue these invaluable lessons on permaculture and farming!
