‘Dandelions’. I find it funny that I have had my 100-300mm zoom lens for about 20 years, and have shot with it more in the last week than I have the entire time I have owned it. Inspiration, and what creates it, it sometimes very unexpected.

‘Two Sides of Chance’. We were blessed with the opportunity to visit a horse ranch yesterday. Our two young ones got to ride horses, and that was the best experience of their short lives so far based on the smile on their faces. As I watched, this beautiful horse named Chance walked up to me and hung around long enough to get a few shots off. It was a fun family adventure.

The unexpected discovery of a completely empty room with one big window as a light source...I’m not sure if the kids had more fun or if I did photographing them.

‘A White House - Sonoma, CA’. This house has some historical importance, as there is a plaque in front of it. I didn’t read it, and I now wish I had. I just liked how the light hit the house.

A portrait of my parents. I don’t remember shooting this, but with much confidence can tell you what was happening. I’m thinking I asked to take their picture...my mom was all for it and my dad in his jovial way was wanting no part of it. This scenario has played itself out many times over the years. I am very blessed to have these beautiful people as my parents.

These are a few excerpts from a series I shot of my grandparents. I miss them very much. The lessons I learned, the perspective I gained, their example I unconsciously learned so much from, the beautiful memories...all priceless to me. The purpose of the series was to document an interaction. There were 12 images in all. The last one was my grandpa’s idea. He thought it would be funny if the series ended with him asleep 🙂.
