Hello everyone! After a long-awaited wait, we are very excited to announce that Yara’s Salon will officially be reopening after temporarily being closed because of COVID-19. Monday, June 8th will be the official day we will open our doors again. We will be taking all of the necessary precautions to keep you safe and healthy. Don’t forget your masks! We stand as allies against systemic racism here at home in Minneapolis and in communities around the world. We know that the time is now for us to take action and support the Black Community.

Today we are providing grants to nonprofits we are proud to support: the Headwaters Foundation for Justice and . The mission of Headwaters Foundation for Justice is to amplify the power of community to advance equity and justice. Our donation will support their Transformation Fund that helps grassroots organizations to provide protesters and community members with immediate needs. The Black Visions Collective is a nonprofit dedicated to Black and collective liberation that seeks to expand the power of Black people across the Twin Cities metro area and Minnesota. Our donation will support their efforts to advance a shift in public narrative that connects to transformative long-term change.

We are committed to the long-term and we will continue to speak up, support and advocate for change and compassion beyond the immediacy of these recent events. We also know that change starts from within. This is why we will be providing monthly education as well as open invitation, interactive, virtual conversations to engage our Aveda family on topics of discrimination.
