Thank you South Carolina! Starting October 2024, the noxious invasive and undesirable "Bradford Pear" will finally be banned from sale in that state.
This is a giant step for helping protect native species!
"...They’ve also become known as one of the weakest structural trees in existence, with branches that commonly break after 10 to 15 years and a short life expectancy of 20 to 30 years."

Please. Just don't do it! Crape Myrtles have the most beautiful form when pruned properly and allowed to grow in their natural shape.

It’s tree-pruning season. Here’s how to do it without resorting to ‘crape murder.’ Winter, when trees are dormant and their structures are visible, is the optimum time to trim dead and wayward branches. But don’t go overboard.
