Design Build Ecological
Landscapes & Farms

06/07/2026

If your wondering where to start when designing your Regenerative Garden, Farm, or Homestead. Go Macro to Micro! First observe and start from the broadest influences: climate, land shape, water, access! Then move towards the finer aspects, plants/trees, soil development, nutrient cycles. This will ensure more efficiency and less hasty decisions in the beginning of your design process.

Living Willow update after 6 weeks, more like 2 months since planting. We reluctantly planted late into Spring and were concerned if the early heat might take them out. Luckily nature, and Willow especially, is so resilient and forgiving. Great to see the taller rods greening up. Next winter we will come in again to solidify and strengthen structure by weaving in new growth and adding new rods earlier in Winter if needed. Or we just leave it and let Willow express her self as she wishes. Grateful for teaming up with one of Sonoma counties most sustainably innovative and ecologically inspiring landscape companies to bring this to fruition! 💚 🙏🏼 if you’re interested, send a DM, we’re takin names for next Winter installs!!

This 300’ ft terrace has slowed spread and sunk thousands of gallons of water across this hillside to spread hydration from valleys toward ridges, maximizing water capacity on this 9 acre property.

Lovely day sharing the beauty and systems of nature and regenerative design with over 100 attendees. People from all over Northbay got to walk through a garden that gives back more than it takes. This garden catches over 30,000 gallons of water each year that is sequestering back into the topsoil and groundwater, as well as using low water use lawn and drip irrigation for all annual and perennial herbs, food, fiber, forage and fun! All ages and types coming through, a real treat to meet so many different kinds of people, all enjoying natures beauty and abundance.

One of our favorite projects, designing and building the water harvesting earthworks and ifarmscale irrigation for and the amazing green thumb of farm manager
They grow and prepare healthy meals for health and income challenged people in our county. So sweet to see their organization growing, hopefully with more ecological farms to come!!

Here’s how it starts; ideas and concepts, the fun easy part, the dreaming into. Then comes resourcing of the medium, this case Willow! Then… the doing, starting tomorrow! An early Spring heating up quick, living plants aren’t waiting. Diggin in tomorrow! A week of weaving and gestation then it’s born. A living structure that will take on a new life to this already magical garden.

Mosquito proofing our tanks from the blood sucking moisture magnets who will fly up pipe conveyance all the way to open water source if you let them. Since these pipes are non-pressurized the mosquito screen is easily shoved the 2”pipe fitting and into our tank inlet and overflow

Had a great time talking about Gods Design with The First Congregational church of Santa Rosa, https://www.fccsr.org/home
A beautiful community with a beautiful structure that being slowly eroded by poor downspouts and drainage pipes. On this site the building is the first priority towards future water catchment work. We have some exciting plans and networking opportunities to come.
“May this be a church you walk through rather than walk by.” Pastor Diana Bell-Kerr.

Yes to community uploftment and creating hubs of education and learning.
