Marco launched his prestigious career in 1981 at Gene Juarez salons where his first apprenticeship was served as Gene’s personal assistant, at a time when there were just two Gene Juarez salons. He ascended to become the company’s a design instructor and helped develop the image into the empire that would eventually flourish into two fundamental Academy locations and nine salons and spas. Serving as Artistic Director, Marco governed the team, oversaw promotions and the artistic direction of photography for its advertising campaigns and collateral. He also managed the design staff and the testing process for all new designers. This style and beauty authority’s work has been featured in such publications as NY Times, Seattle Magazine, Seattle Times/P-I, Vogue, Town & Country, Mademoiselle, and numerous trade magazines. Also appearing on KIRO, KOMO, and Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous, Marco has worked with such celebrities as Iman, Cindy Crawford, and Paloma Picasso. As recognition for his work, Marco has received the Gene Juarez Award, Clients Choice, Outstanding Artist, Top Client’s Choice, Outstanding Commitment, and Top Outstanding Artist, as well as being named the top designer in the city by Seattle Magazine for many years.
