Catchy melodies, thoughtful lyrics and a soulful delivery blend with my love of funky beats and hummable choruses - something like Ed Sheeren meeting Van Morrison & Jimmy Buffett onstage with a saxophone. Originally from Seattle, Trevor Ras spent most of his formative musical years based in Portland, OR as a sideman and saxophone player, touring up and down the I-5 corridor with regional acts like Big Time Rosie, Life After Liftoff and Jesus Presley. He’s played for President Clinton, opened for and played with Steve Miller, Bo Diddley, Pink Martini, and Tony Furtado. He also spent time chasing the dream in L.A., touring with national up and comer, Justin Hopkins and the Guilt and working on his solo career. Catchy melodies, heartfelt lyrics and his soulful saxophone blend with a penchant for great grooves and campfire sing-a-longs, giving Trevor Ras a unique style- one that lands him comfortably between Van Morrison and Jack Johnson, Ed Sheeren, and Crosby, Still, Nash and Young. The music harkens back to a much simpler time, when digital gimmicks were no match for groove, melody, lyrics and a great hook. And while the recording and songwriting are strongly rooted in the present, the vibe suggests you’re listening to John Mellencamp’s “Jack and Diane” for the first time or watching the sunset, singing along to your favorite Van Morrison tune. Friday night, June 5th, I've got a rare West Seattle show. Welcome Road Winery here on "The Rock" is the perfect date night spot. Wine, tune and a little snack, then head out for bite after. 6-8pm. Hello My Friends in Music!I hath risen...well, from taking the winter off! Musical hibernation you might call it. But I'm back! I have new originals and covers to play for you, including the Eagles, Tracy Chapman, and Chris Stapleton to name a few artists. Its always good to take a break from the madness that is our current world and play (or listen to) some live music. I've been missing it!
I've got some upcoming shows- North, West, and South. This Friday, April 3rd I kick it all off at McMenamin's Anderson School up in Bothell. In the Thorndike Room (all ages) behind the Woodshed bar from 7-10p, you've got a full menu and 3 hours of songwriter rock. Come on by and say what's up.
On Friday, April 24th from 6-8, you'll find me up north in Bellingham at Welcome Road Winery tasting room downtown. Its a small room, but the wine is big bold, and tasty!
Ok, I'll leave it at that for now, but it feels good to be back and out in the world.
