Slow Food Seattle
Slow Food is a volunteer-led, member-driven organization that hosts educational events and advocacy campaigns. We invite you to join the Slow Food movement!
We strive to create a world where all people can eat food that is good for them, good for the people who grow it, and good for the planet. Living the slow life with food as the focus is as rewarding as it is easy, and it can be done daily by each one of us. Whether it’s participating in local Slow Food events, meeting local food producers at Seattle area farmers markets, or savoring restaurant cui

Wild Tide guests, meet your menu!
Chef Kären Jurgensen has put together an unforgettable feast celebrating the best of our local waters and forests.
Imagine:
-Lummi Island ikura
-Taylor Shellfish Manila clams and deep-fried oysters
-Salmon ala Plancha with foraged mushroom butter
-Tempura-fried mussels in a cucumber cup with sesame vinaigrette and nori
Trust us, it will be wildly worth the wait.

She’s a sustainability trailblazer, a Lifetime Learner Award recipient, and helped make SCA the first school in the nation to fully integrate sustainable food systems and social justice into its program.

Is there anything better than crisp cider with fresh seafood? 🌊
We don’t think so—which is why we’re thrilled to welcome to our Wild Tide lineup! Laura and Chelsea will be joining us for dinner where they’ll be pouring a couple of Finnriver’s handcrafted ciders, including Tideline—made with organic golden russet apples, nootka rosehips, and Grand fir tips. Seafood, meet your perfect match!
Finnriver Farm and Cidery is one of our illustrious Snail of Approval awardees, and a leader in the Pacific Northwest hard cider revival, crafting innovative ciders using organic, seasonal, and wild-harvested ingredients. They also support local salmon conservation, riparian habitat restoration, and organic education and advocacy. We’re truly honored to partner with them on this special dinner and fundraiser for the Seattle Indian Center!
There are only a couple tickets left, so don’t wait to grab your spot! Link in bio. 👀

The tide always comes back in! 🌊
We’re delighted to invite you all back to the table for our reconvened Wild Tide dinner on Wednesday, February 18th. Tickets are limited for this very special event, so don’t wait to get yours!
The Wild Tide dinner will be an immersive experience celebrating the interconnection of our coastal ecosystems, and of our communities. Together, Chef Kären Jurgensen of Seattle Culinary Academy and WWU teaching professor, scientist, and author Jennifer Hahn are sharing their passion and expertise for these myriad wild foods.
This stellar gathering will have special meaning, as we’ve added a charitable holdfast: a fundraiser in support of the Seattle Indian Center, whose food programs help anchor community nourishment during changing tides—like the holdfasts seaweeds use to grip rocks and gather nutrients in our region’s powerful currents.
We will also be hosting a raffle featuring a thoughtful collection of prizes donated by our generous event partners: artist Chris Moench, author Jennifer Hahn, and Finnriver Farm & Cidery!
We hope you’ll join us at One World Restaurant to eat, drink, and learn about traditional foods of the Pacific Coast, and help us raise a tide of funds for a longstanding community organization that helps ensure no one in our city goes hungry.
