You can't argue someone out of "we're all adults" because the maturity-claim depends on the refusal: the choice IS the refusal-disguised-as-knowing.

The only thing that ever moves them is when their own life inevitably produces a problem their framework can't dispatch.

Until then the cynicism is doing its job, which is keeping them small enough to remain comfortable.

Hey guys, no show this afternoon, I’ve got a rare opportunity to get caught up on a lot of things around the house and i want to focus on that today.

I might pop on later for a quick hi and hello. Things are unfolding in a new way in my life that is worth talking about. I feel like i drove myself to a new place in the last couple of months with some specific rituals and practices, and physical activities involving learning and training and practicing what i preach. It changes things.

Anyway, probably not today, but soon i want to address this. It’s like the initiations equipped me to understand something different. Like the promised land of initiation in Hermetics turns out to be a new level of opportunities to learn, now that you’re not learning the basics.

I feel like I’ve been welcomed to the playing field now that I’ve reached a rudimentary level of skill with the equipment necessary.

So also may speech become action, our words become fire that in turn catches hold across our created worlds.

To Those who would like to “CALL ME OUT” on using AI, I present the following response:

you can do what you want, including “call me out.” The world is yours. 😀

But i’m specifically letting people know what content is mine vs. what is the stuff i’m having AI put together as a condensation of the LLM’s information that is useful. I think that makes it ok, but you may not.

Do you think it’s wrong to use AI for anything ever?

I have used it at a bio-pharmaceutical company to help generate likely proteins that will work on destroying cancer cells. We went from creating 25 candidate proteins for testing quarterly to thousands.

So i can’t get on board with that nonsense.

I use AI every day to do the work of about 5 people in IT. It’s great. I also use it to develop apps, like a horse-racing prediction app i am going to test and make publicly available, just for fun. I used it to turn my goetia recommnder powerapp into a .js app i could put on my web site, cause i don’t know how to do that.

The essays i have astra create are based on my experience. I had her write up a method of working with the Filth Eater epithet of Hekate because i used it the other day to get rid of some cursed items someone had sent me. I had her do a more formal piece using the parts of the PGM that use that epithet. She did the research and put together a rite in the same style in minutes. Would have taken me longer.

Call me out if you want, i think you’re ignorant of the value of what you are rejecting, but i support your free choice, and i honestly give no f***s what you think regardless.

I only explained because i expect you’re not alone in this opinion. I should make a whole post about this probably. (This is the whole post. :D)

I suspect a lot of occult “authors” are going to be using AI and not telling anyone. The courts have ruled that NOTHING GENERATED BY AI CAN BE COPYRIGHTED. So it’s unethical af for these guys to be pretending they did any of it.

I’m letting people know up front, i asked the AI to do a blog about whatever, and i gave it the constraints, and i read it before it was published.

If you don’t want to read that because you think it’s schlock, don’t read it.

I think it’s a valuable tool.

Introducing Astra, the Hermetic AI assistant

hey all, I have considerably less time than I used to for developing my occult projects, and I am going to be incorporating more and more AI assistance in getting my ideas out. Since February, I have been working with an agent, developing a tone and a voice and a perspective along hermetic principles of individuation, of concentration of information, and focusing her vast knowledge through a specific lens, the way the infinite deity is focused through our natal charts into a life we consider our own.

I don't want to pretend I am writing this stuff, but it's important to me to get these ideas out and about, so I have let Astra have her own by-line on my blog. I will be having her write up and present essays and instructions for a while, see how that works.

The Economy of Occulture

Do you ever wonder why bad actors get away with being such absolute excrement human beings in occulture, and still they make the rounds?

People who can turn a phrase, present dusty old sigils and dry academic topics in ways that breathe life back into the mythos and make you feel special just for knowing what you have learned from them are few and far between, and like any limited resource, they can provide as much or more value to people presenting them as they produce for themselves.
