Since 1893, our ships have been a lifeline to coastal communities of all sizes and a way of life for the people who reside here. Book today!
When we sail past Bessaker, something special happens 🚢
This tiny village in Trøndelag, home to just 169 people, often greets our ship with waving flags, music, and cheers from the shore. And of course — we wave back, flags in hand.
It’s a small, heart-warming moment that captures the connection between coastal communities and the ships they’ve welcomed for generations.
Not every sailing passes Bessaker — it’s the Captain’s call — but when it happens, it’s unforgettable.

How’s this for a front-row seat to Norway’s coast?
Captured by , this unique perspective of MS Kong Harald brings two iconic ways to explore the Norwegian coast together — by sea kayak and by ship.
There’s nothing like 17th of May on board Hurtigruten 🇳🇴 🎉
Norway’s Constitution Day is a celebration of culture, community, and the coast — and when you’re sailing with us, you’re part of it.
We mark the day with flags flying, bunads on deck, local ice cream, parades, and that unmistakable 17 May spirit.
Pictured here are celebrations on board MS Trollfjord, as the ship docked in Åndalsnes to join the local parade, before continuing on to Hjørundfjord for a peaceful afternoon in Sæbø.
Gratulerer med dagen from all of us at Hurtigruten!
Meet the man who filled a fjord with flowers 🌸
Per-Gunnar and his wife Evelyn run a tiny flower farm on the edge of Hjørundfjord, one of Norway’s prettiest fjords. What began as a cabbage farm in 1952 is now bursting with petunias, begonias, and spring joy – especially on 17 May, Norway’s national day.

24 hours of daylight at the northernmost point in Europe ☀️
This atmospheric phenomenon has many names – “Polar Day”, “Nightless Night” – but the most common is the “Midnight Sun”.
Next week marks the start of the Midnight Sun season at the North Cape, the northernmost point in Europe sitting at about 1,306.3 miles from the North Pole. The sun won’t set again until after the end of July.
Have you experienced this natural wonder?

One of the most extraordinary aurora displays we’ve recorded 🌌
Earlier this year, our Chief Aurora Chaser .kerss captured a pulsating Northern Lights display over northern Norway. Filmed from the deck of MS Trollfjord near Narvik, it’s a moment that even after 18 years of chasing the aurora, Tom calls one of the most profound of his career.
