SYLO 03/10/2020

Between a huge client canceling with no notice last month and this Corona virus situation, my business is taking a huge hit. If you have not been financially impacted by this outbreak and need a little help around the house, please let me know. I do home, office, garage/shed organizing, closet and shelving installation, general tidying, and light interior design. These last few weeks, I've also just been helping people with any general chores (cleaning, repotting and planting houseplants, painting, etc.). So if you have stuff you need done and no time to do it, give me a call or submit a request through my website. Thank you and stay safe out there!

'The Best Thing You Can Do Is Not Buy More Stuff,' Says 'Secondhand' Expert 12/05/2019

As a professional organizer I see every day the aftermath caused my excessive consumerism and the accumulation of too much stuff. I've seen the stress and anxiety it causes people on a daily basis to try and keep and store all this stuff. I've seen the chaos caused by people inheriting their loved ones items after they've passed. Industries like Goodwill make billions of dollars off the stuff people buy and discard. Nearly two thirds of this stuff will end up in the landfill because there's just too much to sell. There are huge emotional, mental, and environmental consequences of continuing to buy cheap electronics, furniture, clothing, etc. The only solution to this growing problem is to buy less stuff.

'The Best Thing You Can Do Is Not Buy More Stuff,' Says 'Secondhand' Expert "Your average thrift store in the United States only sells about one-third of the stuff that ends up on its shelves," Adam Minter says. His book explores what happens to the things that don't sell.
