Graduate Admissions, Done Strategically

02/09/2026

Most med school advising companies sell large, expensive packages.

That works for some applicants, but it’s never been how we’ve done this work.

Narrative Advising is just the two of us you see here — Todd and Nico — which allows us to work closely with each applicant and meet them where they actually are. That might look like:
• Ongoing support through a full application cycle
• Hourly strategy sessions
• A focused review and revision of your personal statement and/or experiences
• Help with one specific piece of your application you want to strengthen

Our goal isn’t to upsell you.
It’s to help you build the strongest, most authentic application possible — in a way that actually makes sense for you.

We do this work because we care deeply about outcomes, stories, and fit — not because we’re trying to be the biggest name in the industry.

If you’re applying to med school in 2026 and want thoughtful, personalized guidance (without pressure), we’d love to talk.

Have questions about your med school application for 2026?
Comment “MED” or send us a DM — we’ll reply personally.

Planning to apply to med school this 2026 cycle? You’re right on time.

January and February are an excellent time to begin — when there’s still space to be thoughtful, strategic, and intentional.

This is the phase where strong applications take shape: clarifying a cohesive narrative, framing experiences with purpose and impact, building a smart, balanced school list, setting up strong letters and a realistic timeline. At Narrative Advising, we work with applicants at this exact stage to help them put their best foot forward — without panic, rushing, or guesswork.

If you’re applying in 2026 and want experienced guidance to strengthen what you’re already building, we’d love to support you.

There’s a lot of mystery (and misinformation) around what it actually means to work with an advisor, especially in the grad school application world. So let’s clear a few things up...

Working with an advisor looks like:
• Thoughtful conversations about your goals, values, and story
• Clear structure and timelines so you’re not constantly guessing what’s next
• Honest, kind, specific feedback (not generic edits)
• Strategy that’s tailored to you, not a one-size-fits-all checklist
• Support that reduces stress instead of adding to it

It does not look like:
• Someone rewriting your essays for you
• A rigid formula you’re forced to follow
• Fear-based pressure or “do this or you won’t get in” energy
• Losing your voice in the process

At Narrative Advising, our goal is simple: to help you put forward an application that feels authentic and truly reflective of who you are, all while making the process feel organized and manageable.

If you’re thinking about applying to a graduate school program, medical school, or otherwise, and are wondering whether support would help, you don’t need to have it all figured out yet.

We’re happy to talk things through.

Sometimes the best way to show people what we do… is to show who we are.
So hi — I’m Nico 👋

This little corner is where I spend a lot of time listening to people’s stories, organizing their thoughts, and helping them turn messy drafts into something clear, honest, and truly theirs.

I’ve been the student staring down deadlines, the grad student rewriting essays at 2 AM, and the essay editor who understands how vulnerable it feels to share your story. Now I get to bring all of that to Narrative Advising — helping applicants find clarity, confidence, and their real voice in the process.

Outside of this workspace, you’ll usually find me traveling, listening to music, eating tacos, or happily organizing anything in sight.

Thanks for being here, for trusting us, and for letting us be part of your journey. 🤍

No matter where you are in the med school cycle, you still have real control over some of the most influential parts of your med school application. Here are 3 things that can genuinely make or break your cycle 👇

1️⃣ Your Narrative = Your Power.
You have full control over how you tell your story. Polishing your personal statement so it truly distinguishes you from your peers is one of the highest-impact investments you can make — and it’s something we specialize in.

2️⃣ You can still start or pivot on your experiences.
It is not too late to begin a new activity or reframe the ones you already have. The hours you’ll add before submission (plus the 15 months before matriculation) absolutely count. We can help you identify realistic, meaningful steps that strengthen your profile now.

3️⃣ Not all letters of recommendation are created equal.
Who you ask (and how) matters more than most applicants realize. You still have time to be intentional and strategic here — and we’re happy to guide you.

If you want expert eyes on your med school application, DM us “CYCLE” to request a free consultation today. Let’s make sure the parts you can control are working in your favor. ✨

Is an MBA right for you?
It depends on a few key questions—and the answer isn’t the same for everyone.

We help prospective applicants slow down and ask:
✔️ What am I hoping this degree will lead to?
✔️ Do I need an MBA to get there—or are there other paths?
✔️ How do my values align with the programs I’m considering?
✔️ What story will I need to tell to stand out?

An MBA can be a powerful tool—but only when it’s part of a thoughtful, purpose-driven plan. Whether you're just exploring the idea or gearing up to apply, we’re here to help you clarify your direction—and craft an application that reflects it.
