On Friday, I did my first cleaning for a property to be open house ready. And I took the assignment because I was in desperate need of extra money for not only the holidays but because I was behind in my car payments. I am receiving assignments from a company/app that hires independent contractors and allows them to claim the assignment.

Pros:
-there is work available 80-100% of the time
-they will invoice the client soon as you’re finished and you will be paid.

Cons:
-you have to supply your own supplies
-you’re not reimbursed for travel or supplies
-there is a fee to receive your earning immediately or you can wait 5 days and receive for free
-if the client complains or wants a refund, you are responsible for returning it. The company does not support you at all.

The companies I am signed up with are
Homeaglow.com - I use the most. They allow you to set your own pay. But they don’t give clients a guide as to how much time would be needed for what they would like cleaned. Most times it’s not enough time and clients exspect it to be completed, 3bdrm/2bth in 3hrs and not a minute more!

Cleanster.com- this is a newer company I started using. To this day, they owe me $120 for a job I did in October 8th!! They pay you what they think yours worth $22/hr and call last minute to go to Tacoma or Cehalis. They pay you $10 supply allowance for each assignment and I’ve never been able to buy cleaning materials for $10. You can never get a hold of anyone like to inquire about wages owed but they will call you 3 hours prior to assignment to verify an eta. Or call you at 3pm on a Wednesday and ask if you could take a job in Unuversity place and be there in 45 mins. 😐 They must not live in Seattle. They have been having jobs in downtown Seattle that would be perfect because these are clients needing scheduled cleaners. But I refuse to take anymore assignments until I’m paid. I mean at this point they could have mailed me a check. Does anyone have any information on how I could obtain my wages owed to me? I feel like if there was a lawsuit I would be entitled to more due to financial burden they have caused. My car payments still ain’t caught all the way up. Please if you’re an attorney and would like to help ther are others in the app that would be willing to assist in a lawsuit.

My grandmother used to say on New Year’s Eve, you have to have 3 things done before the clock strikes midnight making it officially New Year’s Day.
