🐾 $100,000 in grants. 1,500+ animals reached. One shared mission.
The Seattle Animal Foundation is proud to award $100,000 in grants to five Washington organizations helping animals stay safe, healthy, and out of shelters. Each organization will receive $20,000 to support pets and families with the fewest options.
❤️ Alley Cat Project — Supporting community cats through spay/neuter, medical care, TNR, and foster placement. Alley Cat Project
🐶 Forgotten Dogs Rescue — Funding critical medical care for large-breed and medically vulnerable dogs entering foster care. Forgotten Dogs Rescue
🏡 Dog Gone Seattle — Expanding its LEASH Program, providing behavior support, transition housing, foster preparation, and surrender prevention. Dog Gone Seattle
🐕 Saving Great Animals — Supporting Doug’s Place, a rehabilitation and transition home for dogs who need extra behavioral support before entering foster care. Saving Great Animals
🩺 Washington Health Outreach — Bringing free veterinary care to unhoused and low-income pet owners through community clinics across King County. Washington Health Outreach
These grants build on our ongoing partnership with the Seattle Animal Shelter, including support for its Behaviorist and Foster Programs. Seattle Animal Shelter

Meet Coconut! Our September pup of the month and loving fur baby of Adam and Tiffany Daily. 🫶🏻
Coconut is a 2-year-old pug mix, likely part Chihuahua, who found her forever home on January 4, 2025, through Forever Home Dog Rescue (FHDR) in Edmonds, Washington. Originally a stray from Southern California (coincidentally from her mom’s hometown!), Coconut made her way north to FHDR and quickly captured hearts during her foster stay with Tiffany and Adam.
After years of searching for the right dog, her humans nearly lost hope—but the moment they saw Coconut on Instagram, they knew she was the one. When they met her, they fell head over heels. She gave them light and hope when they least expected it. She keeps them laughing and wondering what’s going on inside that little coconut of hers. In standard pug fashion, she makes all sorts of hilarious noises but rarely barks—except when the doorbell rings or a squirrel dares to mock her from the backyard. A minor Seattle celebrity, you can follow her adventures online at Coconut the Pugchi

Our July calendar spotlight is Ms. Riley! She is the beloved fur baby of Nancy Thai and Eric Whitmire. We wish her the best birthday month! Ball anyone?
Riley is a 5-year-old pittie mix who came into the world as the daughter of a pregnant rescue from Texas and was adopted at 8 weeks from her fosters in Blaine, WA through Three Little Pitties Rescue. This brindle “gnocchi gremlin” is a true soul dog—full of joy, laughter, and endless cuddles. Riley adores people and has a deep emotional capacity. She is loved beyond measure and is the best adventure buddy. True to pittie form, this princess pittie hates the PNW rain and wants nothing more than full body contact snuggles, preferably while smothered under a blanket.
