Got this in the other day...

"I was DJing a couple of weeks ago for all the new, bright, happy people who have invaded our beautiful city. They move around in automated cars, entertaining themselves by watching the Paramount+ app while they're in a bar, while a certain DJ mixes live and live on the fly.

I was having a blast. Mixing it up. Keeping it eclectic, but still impactful.

But I was curious to know what exactly could get these new replicants out of their digital multi-screen world: "I want it all off my phone right now." Then I found my Meters logs. Do you know that band? They're probably the funkiest outfit next to Parliament Funkadelic in terms of 1960s and 1970s technology, and they can still hit people in this Tik-Tok-defeated Twitter era. It was her cover of “Sing a Simple Song” by Sly and The Family Stone that made groups of people chatting politely instinctively snap their necks, groups of girlfriends to stop spilling their tea, stand up and shake that thang. The bartenders flashed a quick smile as they performed their 17-ingredient mixology drink Ted-Talk.

It would be foolish to say that Seattle funk band The Oscillators, an experimental recording collaboration, sound exactly like The Meters. However, I can confirm that they have a similar aesthetic.

Led by drummer Olli Klomp, the band includes members of The Polyrhythmics, Rippin' Chicken, The Pulsations, Lucky Brown, The Trueloves, 45th Street Brass, The SG's and more.
Don't be fooled by these tech experts who believe everything must meet Spotify's standards to be successful.

This is incorrect! Wrong!

The opening track on the group's self-titled album, “Track Suit,” is a drum-heavy, guitar-driven track that has all the lo-fi complexity that makes you want to sink your bare feet into a plush rug while drinking. a sorbet

It's safe to say that The Oscillators restore faith in the analog mystique, where the drums sound louder than a powerful Shawn Kemp dunk.
