Academy for Precision Learning
APL is an independent K-12 school for all abilities that celebrates neurodiversity, located in Seattle's University District.
APL provides an academic environment in which acceptance, tolerance, and community building are emphasized. We promote positive problem-solving strategies and interpersonal interactions that encourage mutual respect, negotiation, self-advocacy, and self-esteem.

In the summer of 2016, I rode my bicycle from San Francisco, CA to Portsmouth, NH—raising $22,000 for Academy for Precision Learning (APL) along the way. APL is a neurodiverse K–12 school in Seattle where I had the privilege of working for six years across both clinical and developmental programs.
While much in my life has changed since then, one thing has remained constant: summertime cycling adventures.
This year, I’m taking that passion to a new level by racing in the Unbound Gravel XL—a 350-mile race through Emporia, KS on May 29th.
To mark the 10-year anniversary of my cross-country ride, I’m taking on what may be my biggest cycling challenge yet—while once again raising funds, this time through the Sage Foundation, in support of APL’s incredible students and staff.
The impact of APL extends far beyond the classroom. It transforms not only the lives of its students, but also their families and communities. I’ve stayed close with several APL families over the years, and it’s been inspiring to watch students go on to attend colleges like the University of Washington and the University of Iowa.
I’ll be doing my part on the gravel roads of Kansas—but I’d be grateful for your support. If you’re able, please consider making a donation using the link below.
Thank you for being part of the journey.

Big things are ahead!
Tonight, we’re proud to share a new look at our mission and the next chapter in our new building.✨
